New EU President's Salary Revealed
1st July 2014
This should help Europe!
NEW EU President Jean-Claude Juncker will pick up a colossal £1.8million in pay and perks.
The former Luxembourg PM will receive the huge sum if he serves just one five-year term as Commission chief.
Brussels’ top bureaucrat will then pocket a £52,500 pension for life.
Arch-federalist Mr Juncker will get a basic salary of £245,629 a year – worth more than £1.2million over a five-year term and dwarfing David Cameron’s £142,500 annual pay packet.
The salary is topped up by a “residential allowance” of £184,222 over five years, plus a huge expenses deal of £1,136 each month.
On leaving office he receives a £20,469 resettlement allowance, a transitional allowance of £98,252 for three years, plus his pension.

Re: New EU President's Salary Revealed
Yea, at least he'll be doing a job, unlike the UKIP people. That salary doesn't come anywhere near the Wankers does is when you take in their 'bonuses' for banks loosing money and having to be propped up by taxpayers.

He'll be doing a job alright, a job on the people of Europe.....
Are you in favour of democracy Sassy?
National sovereignty?
The right to self governance by your elected representatives in your national parliament?
The EU is run and controlled by unelected 'appointees'.
Are you in favour of this too?

Re: New EU President's Salary Revealed
Now, how many UKIP MEP's are there, who have all said they won't be doing anything but collecting the money. I wonder how much that adds up too?

Re: New EU President's Salary Revealed
Didn't answer the questions.....
And we all have our national parliaments who are already paid to legislate and make laws, run the countries etc, and can already do everything we need anyway, so why not add up how much the whole EU costs us for being an unneeded, undemocratic, unwanted and completely unnecessary bureaucracy.....

Let's see...in the de facto United States of Europe we of the hoi poloi are not permitted to elect our President; we are not permitted to elect the politician who is the equivalent of Prime Minister; we are not permitted to elect the politician who is the equivalent of Foreign Secretary; we are not permitted to elect the politicians who are the equivalent of the cabinet; the civil service is utterly unaccountable to the public and the Parliament has very few real powers.
Some democracy......

Re: New EU President's Salary Revealed
How many politicians do we think work for the EU in a 10 year period?
Now, i wonder why they thought it up and are so keen to prevent us from closing it down...
Don't forget - politicians doesn't just mean MEP's!

Hello moley, exactly!!!
Hence my questions to Sassy.
You can't be in favour of democracy as well as being a supporter of the EU.
I think pat condell puts it quite well in this video I posted up earlier.....

And by the way, my good friend mattiducatti sends his regards....!

Please return my felicitations...
I once had to explain the political structure and role of the EU Commission to a bunch of US farmers. They could hardly believe that the executive was so remote from the public - and so unaccountable to them.
I voted "no" back in the 70s when they were trying to sell us the idea that it was a trading bloc; it was obvious to me even then the direction that it would take.
