Abu Hamza's Family Still Costing Us £Millions

There was growing anger last night that Abu Hamza’s family are continuing to be bankrolled by the British public.

As the hate preacher was convicted of 11 terror offences in the U.S., it emerged his wife and children are still being housed at an extortionate cost in one of the most upmarket areas of the country.

It is thought the family have cost taxpayers more than £3million in benefits and social housing, as well as legal fees for Hamza and his sons.

Hamza’s second wife Najat Mostafa, 55, with whom he has seven children, lives in a £1.25 million five-bedroom council house in Shepherd’s Bush, West London – an area popular with bankers and City lawyers.

Last night, neighbours said they were ‘sickened’ the family were continuing to benefit from state handouts.

Hamza, 58, has nine children – seven sons and two daughters.

His eldest son Mohamed Mostafa, 32, was jailed for his part in planning to blow up churches in Yemen on Christmas Day 1998.

He was jailed again in 2008, along with his brother Hamza Kamel, now 27, for their part in a £1 million luxury car scam.

Hamza’s fifth son Imran Mostafa, 20, was jailed for 11 years in 2012 for armed robbery.

Another son, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was jailed in February for 12 years for conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to commit false imprisonment.

When all's said and done you can't blame the wife and kids for what the man has done. That said, I do think people living on benefits shouldn't be housed in luxury homes that working people can't afford - and I'm not being a hypocrite; if I were living on benefits in the UK I'd expect to have to move to outer London at least.

You can't blame people for being angry, how many council houses could £1.25m build in other areas? Do any of the family work?

The vast majority of people who work in London commute as they can't afford to live there, some of my colleagues have over a 2 hour commute each way.  

£3m for one family, how long a period is this over?  

Yes, must be a million workers who work in London can't afford to live there, because it's got about another million foreigners living there who don't want to work.

Most of those "kids" sound as if they're grown up. They should get their own place, and maybe even a job.

Very true Victor...it looks like they are a family of criminals, but a bit of a shame for the daughters if they have done no wrong.

Then it's an absolute disgrace, how can they be left to live in such elegance at the expense of the taxpayer when old people are so stressed having to move because if the stinking bedroom tax?

It's a real shocker..and this government are letting it go on right under the noses of everybody.

This has been going on under labour for years, with some poor and disadvantaged people even claiming up to £100,000 a year in well needed benefits.....!!!!



Because compassion for those wishing to take the piss is more important than caring about those who are expected to pay for it all!
