Hi Cass xxx
Not a big Elvis fan but picture this. A table for two set in the sand on a Mauritian beach surrounded by candles. A lovely meal, wine, the sea as still as a mill pond. Musicians coming to the table, made me and Hubby hold hands despite our protests. They sang this song, we both cried it was the single most romantic moment in my life and I'll never forget it. The band cried too

That is so true LD but as with John Martyn, Ritchie Blackmore, Miles Davis and John Lennon among countless others that I admire, in real life they were pure unadulterated twats in real life. (excuse my French) Maybe being self-centred and a prat is part of the creative process. :\\:[:

Honestly Stephen, they made us hold hands and look into each other's eyes; we were so emotional. That was about 7 years ago and we will have been married 21 years next month. We're not like that at all just the setting etc. Beautiful x

Good evening to you too, Didge. He was a legend in his time and passed away far too soon.

You've got to make the most of moments like that, while you can FTL as they are so fleeting. Still a soppy git though.

OK ~ Rudy Lewis was only a backing singer on this song, but he was one hell of a singer and a big part of The Drifters early success. Died aged 27.
