Ten Negative Messages The Republican Party Is Sending To America’s Kids
Republicans complain about video games and Hollywood, routinely whining that the influence of the mainstream media on the next generation is ‘destroying America.’ They claim that the ‘unGodly‘ and the ‘sexually immoral’ are encouraging young people to become degenerate, God hating heathens, bound for eternal damnation.
The Republican agenda is destroying the fabric of American society.
Who is really destroying the fabric of American society? Is it the gays with their ‘homosexual agenda,‘ and Disney with their top secret plot to corrupt the minds of all children via cartoon feature films with catchy theme songs? Or is it another segment of society altogether? A segment of our population that teaches American youth that violence is the answer to all problems; one that role models disrespect for everyone, from teachers to the police, to the president; a segment of our population that pretends to be ‘Godly,’ but values wealth more than humanity and role models that truth in everything they say and do?
Republicans are horrible role models for America’s young people. Representatives of the GOP promote an agenda which is racist, classist, sexist, violent and uneducated. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
Here are the top ten reasons that Republicans make horrible role models:

Re: Ten Negative Messages The Republican Party Is Sending To America’s Kids
As I read through this--and it is most interesting--I am struck by how much social engineering theory has infiltrated the Republican/Tory thinking.
These are the believers in individualism, who detest any kind of social theory and label activism as socialist. And here they are--socialists themselves--awash in theories about collective human behaviour.
You see this in Republican theories about "inner-city" (read as African-American) lack of work ethic, proposed by Congressman Paul Ryan:
http://www.msnbc.com/politicsnation/ryan-generations-men-not-working
You also see their social theories at work in their ideas about motivation of people...the darwinism in the healthcare debate, education, employment, and most certainly welfare.
But when it comes to the wealthy and privileged? Almost no social theory whatsoever. They are individuals, abiding by the virtues of individualism, according to conservatives.

But, unfortunately deluded. He is one of those who still believes in a seventeenth-century economic theory (Smithsonian), fit more for shop keepers and smithies than global and industrial society. He buys into Keynesian theory if wealth is distributed to the wealthy, which has been proven not to work, yet ignores other parts of the theory that really do promote economic expansion.

Well, he hasn't been president of the United States for five years, so there's that ... plus:
Did anyone at the Times or the Post stop and say, Wait a minute, are we writing a profile or a fairy tale? Like countless kids across America, Ryan had a fast-food job in high school. He went to college. Surprisingly, when he took an internship on Capitol Hill, they didn't let him start out as a legislator, so he had to deliver mail. Sucking up to big wigs helped him make connections (he was voted "Biggest Brown Noser" in high school), which helped out his political career. He works out and hunts. He loves Ayn Rand. Nothing about these traits or accomplishments indicates that he is any more independent than, say, Barack Obama. But in an attempt to draw a connection between Ryan's ideology and his biography, journalists and politicians cite them as evidence of his extraordinary self-reliance.
But if you wipe the stardust from your eyes, you'll be forced to admit that for all his talk about the free market, Ryan has spent precious little time in it and in fact has benefited from government help more than most. When his father died, Ryan received Social Security payments that helped pay for his college tuition. He attended Miami University, a public institution that receives millions of dollars in federal and state money every year. Since then, Ryan has spent most of his life—15 years, to be exact—on the government's payroll. And as opposed to Mitt Romney, who earned his money in private equity, Ryan married into his fortune. Finally, one shouldn't forget that Ryan took home $20 million in stimulus money for energy efficiency in Wisconsin while protesting the stimulus, and $5.4 million in earmarks in 2008 while protesting earmarks—accomplishments that might have pleased his constituents but don't square with his small-government image. In short, Ryan is only around to warn about the evils of government because of government.

6.1 million new jobs created during those five years and 8 million people who now have health insurance and didn't have it before -- yeah, that's success.

Obama has been a great president. He saved us from the certain depression in October, 2008, caused by the stupid ego wars of GWB. He saved the US auto industry. He staved off massive unemployment brought on by GWB. He got universal healthcare, at nearly no cost. And he got Osama bin Ladin.
The man is a miracle worker.

Again -- the ACA is a mandate to buy health insurance. Yes, some state aid was expanded as well, but the majority of the newly insured (more than 90 percent) are paying for their own policies.

How many times in this thread have you demonstrated your ignorance now?
The ACA made health care more affordable in the U.S. using basic economic principles.
1) Nobody could be denied a policy, as insurers had done before -- creating a much larger pool of insured people.
2) Everyone has to have a policy, unlike before -- creating a much larger pool of paying insured people.
3) Health insurance companies have been made to compete against one another, unlike before, when it was common for large markets to be dominated by one company (to the tune of having 95 percent or more of the business in that area).
4) More customers and more competition means lower prices -- always has, always will.

Re: Ten Negative Messages The Republican Party Is Sending To America’s Kids
So presumably even homeless tramps can now afford top notch health insurance since they cannot be denied and they HAVE to have one
What a bargain, half a bottle of moonshine for a full course of chemo and aftercare
I hope insurance companies like going bankrupt

What happens is, he can't afford to pay for it and if he's not eligible for Medicaid or another form of assistance that we've had for decades, technically he's subject to being fined by the IRS.
Which he can't pay of course, since he has no income and not being able to get health insurance is only one of his many problems.
So the IRS reports him as delinquent on his taxes and his credit is damaged -- again, only one of his many problems.
Sorry smelly, I don't think you're going to get to be the one guy who discovered the fatal flaw ::D:: ::D:: ::D::

Nah, the press has debunked that film.
Obama is commander-in-chief of the military. The Seals are a part of the US Navy. The US Navy is a part of the military. Ergo, Obama, as the commander-in-chief, sat in a war room and commanded the entire mission on the spot. He 'pulled the trigger' that killed Osama bin Laden.
He is a decisive leader, and this was about as presidential as a President can get. Would you rather have little-boy-bush landing on an aircraft carrier with a sign reading, "Mission Accomplished?" After which, another 4,000 men and another $7-trillion is spent?
Republican/Conservatives don't like Obama for one, and only one thing: he is black. But who the fuck cares what those losers don't like. Obama beat their ass, and there is no denying that. Also, he killed Osama bin Ladin, when little-boy-bush couldn't do it after 7-years. Ain't no denying that, either.
Now off you go for some more pretty figure skating in your tutu, girly. Lol

Smelly, the full name is:
So why the word, "patent?" Because the Act puts a cap on the Pharma industry rip offs, as well as $10 aspirins in a hospital. That's how it makes healthcare self-sustaining. The caps result in savings, making insurance policies affordable.
In fact, as a result of these caps, Medicare reaps a side benefit of $716-billion. Medicare is also a user of medicines and services, and via the ACA it saves some $716-billion, which will have the effect of prolonging the life of the Medicare Trust Fund by ten years.
This is a massively successful form of healthcare legislation. Not only does it provide for health insurance, but it does so at a reasonable cost. More than that, it uses the private market to do so. Outstanding.

So Barry is now a socialist because he introduced some decency into the psyche of American society? Americans have evolved from harsh survival, into little money making machines, the American people are pioneers, one hopes that they get the flavour of a decent society, they might export this elsewhere.smelly_bandit wrote:scrat wrote:

You enjoy the image of your president hanging off some weapon of Warcraft drooling at the prospect of inflicting "doom" everywhere, I think the American people are beginning to come to terms with reality and with Barry you get the impression that America is finally moving along.

You're so deluded that you have to give credit of bushs groundwork for OBL to Obama and then in the most eye watering twist of reality you claim Obama killed him by pulling the trigger
It strikes me that you haven't tossed in one single fact alongside your tantrum. You are making this up as you go along, aren't you? You begin with your premise, go nowhere, and end with your premise. Lol. Not a lot of thinking to you, is there?

By the way little boy bush served two terms as well
So I guess Obama ain't all that special apart from being black
Little-boy-bush played in his sandbox for eight years, with ministers running amuck in the real offices. The saga of Osama bin Laden is the perfect take away on the difference between Obama and Bush. Bush spent eight years failing to get OBL. Obama comes in and nails OBL in a heartbeat.
Let's see...who do I want if I want to get a job done? Tough question. ::dunno::

you really are suffering from messiah love aren't you??
so let me get this straight
so when its bad - its been left by bush for obama to fix and therefore he is the hero
but when its good thats been left - its all obama doing and bush is nowhere to be seen and obama is still the hero
does that include the drone strike program??
its that obamas or bushs??

what about getmo??
i guess thats all obamas because bush doesnt exist right??
he did nothing to fight AL-Q or find OBL
im just wondering??
how is it that obama in your eyes could find OBL "in a heartbeat" and yet Edward snowden is still free despite Obama knowing where he is???
how is that obama could find and kill in a heart beat the most infamous and wanted terrorist on earth and yet one little computer nerd evades him??
and yes and the BEST part???
the bestest best part ever?
RUSSIA is giving him asylum
i always thought Russia was bad country run by a bad man??
why would an American seek asylum from obamas persecution in Russia??
i bet thats a big black cock in your arse eh??
