Vile Diane Abbott Tweets From Benn's Funeral About Who She Stands Near!

The former Labour frontbencher took to the social media network to tweet about sitting next to former foreign secretary Jack Straw and current shadow Chancellor Ed Balls as she waited for the service to start.

Ms Abbott's tweets drew anger from her Twitter followers, with one saying her actions were "vile" and others saying she was not showing respect.

One user said: "so bloody disrespectful, how about you put aside social media for just ONE MINUTE to pay respects properly to a great man."

As they gathered Diane Abbott tweeted a picture of the order of service and said she was sat behind Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls and next to former Home Secretary Jack Straw.

'In St Margaret's Westminster waiting for #TonyBenn funeral to begin. Greatest Labour politician of his generation,' she also wrote. But her messages, seen by her 63,000 followers, sparked anger, with one urging her: 'Put your phone down you prat!'.


After Ms Abbott responded by saying the tweet had been sent before the service itself had started, the user replied: "Whenever I have attended a funeral I have NEVER even switched my phone on, before or after. Nor did I care who I sat near…!"

Another said: "Can you seriously not see anything wrong with tweeting name checks while in a church waiting for a funeral to begin?"

"It is not appropriate to "live tweet" from a funeral in the way you have. Vile in fact. Have respect." was another Twitter users verdict, while another said: "the ceremony itself may not have begun. Still, it's remarkable to be bashing away on Twitter while mourners enter the church."

She just wasn't thinking.Still it is pretty insensitive.

Actually, so do I, she puts her foot in it a lot because she says what's in her head without thinking about it.   But at least she doesn't listen to a spin doctor before she says it.
