How Is This NOT Dangerous Driving? Your Opinions Please.

An Army driver is facing jail after he was found guilty of killing a teenage biker during an illicit 'Fast and Furious-style' street car rally for petrol-heads.

Gareth Jones, 23, was attending a 'car cruising club' organised on Facebook in which vehicles were raced at speeds of up to 130mph on a remote road next to an industrial estate.

Tragedy struck when he pulled a 'sudden and dangerous' left turn while driving his Ford Focus ST and veered into the path of 19-year-old Jack Bellis who was riding a yellow Suzuki dRZ 400 motorbike.

At Chester Crown Court he was convicted of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving by a jury but was cleared of the more serious charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

Witnesses reported seeing cars in 'rolling races', travelling at speeds estimated at 130mph in the 40mph zone.

he should of course be done for negligent manslaughter, and get at least 20 years....

of course, on the back of this we should also ban all cars

What an ignorant and selfish lad, now he has to live with the consequences and moreover so do the victim's family.

The lad was also speeding and joining in the event though. Very dangerous things are motorbikes.

Well clearly, driving at 80-100 mph in a 40 mph zone is not handling a motorbike properly.

That's what I mean, people who can't handle them and show little caution, the guy in the car was even worse driving at speeds of up to 130 mph...

That is lethal and he should have been prosecuted by the charge of dangerous driving.

The lad was speeding yes - charge him posthumously.

But I'd say that's separate - once you've charged him (posthumously) you move on to this army prat - was he driving dangerously or not? Yes he was, clearly!
