Oregon family dials 911 - held hostage by 22-pound pet cat
SRSLY, I IS BAD NEWZ.
An Oregon family were forced to dial 911 after their 22-pound pet cat went berserk and held them hostage in their own home.
Lee Palmer and partner Teresa Barker were holed up in their Portland bedroom Sunday after bad mog Lux scratched their 7-month-old child in the face before seriously freaking out.

Sounds funny, but I bet they didn't feel it was. Did they find out why the cat did it and what did they do with the cat? Hope it's not around the baby any more, but hope someone without children took it in.

22pound is 10 kg? why didn't he just kick it harder The Cat attacked a baby.
People are making excuse for the cat.(in the comments at the OP article) there are none. a house pet attacks an infant you put it down (or keep it in a secure enclosure) as it is not suitable for a house pet.

I wonder if it has a bit of lynx or bobcat in it's ancestry..
Just personally ~ I wouldn't leave any pets unattended around a baby; and as for people continually getting animals that they are personally incapable of handling... ::-3::
Agreed Lone Wolf, I wouldn't either. However much you think you know your pet you can never 100% predict their behaviour

I seriously hope they have it in quarantine pending rabies determination....
when a cat suddenly changes its behaviour like that in an area where rabies is endemic (America) thats GOT be be a concern...unless of course its been vaccinated against it.....

The baby pulled the cat's tail, they kicked the cat, the cat reacted.

NO!!!! the animal is not suitable to be homed, should be put down.
IF cats where held to the same standards as dogs it would be put down no questions asked.
IF it where a large dog then Definitely there would be no option than put it down.
NO ONE accepts "ohh the 70kg rottweiler got it tail pulled then got kicked so it was just reacting when it attacked and cornered it's owners in their own home."
Apply the same standards.

@wolf
it's a cat
shoot it ::rambo:: Damn the murdering Felines to hell (or England, what ever) but NONE here.
And RSPCA definitely would put it down if it were a dog, it would have failed the non-aggression test and they would classify as unsuitable for re homing.
