Mysteries of the Universe
Mysterious Universe.
There are times when our universe poses events that are unexplainable. We think we know all about the formation and construction of the universe, galaxies, stars and planets. We think we now understand why there are such things as black holes, and yet there are strange anomalies which are beyond and defy our understanding. Are there such things as worm holes, vortexes, dilation and/or expansion of time itself? On Planet Earth are there Bermuda Triangles popping up irregularly around the planet? Are their Aliens from a different dimension here amongst us? Why do I ask?
BECAUSE OF MY MISSING SOCK, that’s why! Let me explain. I put my clothes in the linen basket, they are then put in the washing machine, get washed and hung out and yet what do I come across? Just one damned sock! It isn’t lodged in the machine, it isn’t still in the linen basket so where the hell is it? Perhaps it’s being analysed in an Alien laboratory, scientists scratching their heads at this peculiar Earthling’s artefact. Perhaps it’s been sucked up into another universe by a Black Hole, or sucked down into the depths by a Triangle. Either way, where the hell is it? Give the bloody thing back to me.

I made a groundbreaking discovery last night as I was putting fresh sheets on my bed, stardesk -- never overlook the possibility that one of the fitted corners of your bottom sheets conceals a missing sock.

I'm missing one sock as we speak!

In the wearing sense? Because that certainly sounds like a Raggamuffin ::D::
Re: Mysteries of the Universe
Hi Ben. Now that's a possibility, but if I go pulling out the corners of the sheets and blankets the wife is sure to moan. You can't win, Mate.

Raggy, perhaps there's a strange anomaly out there that survives on odd socks. The mind boggles.

Haha!
I went to put some clean socks away, and there is one without a partner.

@Stardesk
a sock is a like snake overalls so maybe children of the rainbow serpent shift from 'the dreaming' dimension to the washing machine get themselves a snake overall (that was your sock) and shift back into the dreaming.
that explains why the never take a pair, just the one

Lol, see what I mean Raggy? Something is afoot, and it's not my sock. Somewhere on the planet there must be a huge pile of odd socks. Phew! If not washed they can keep 'em.
Veya, now that's a possibility, a snake's overalls. Leaves them a bit slimey though, doesn't it? Yeuk! They can keep it, I'll go and buy a new pair.

Re: Mysteries of the Universe
Well that black hole must be bloody huge by now. Just thrown out the contents of OH's sock drawer and bought some more, because 9/10s of them were odd. And I'm the one that puts them in the machine and finds one gone every time.

Re: Mysteries of the Universe
Excellent Wolfy, top marks. I wonder, does Drinky prefer woollen socks or nylon. Either way, now I've several odd ones he might as well have them, and bloomin' well choke on 'em.

Has anyone checked the cats bed? When I took out the padded bottom to wash I found 3 odd socks!

Re: Mysteries of the Universe
Hi folks. Nicko, that's a thought, has the cat pinched the sock? Mind you our cat is peculiar. I bought her a lovely soft warm blanket and put in her basket. She jumped in and paddled it, as they do. She used it for a couple of days then gave up, now she doesn't go near it. Perhaps if I fill the basket with odd socks she might go back in it. Now, will she prefer dirty or clean ones?

Missing flatware! Like spoons and forks...always going missing. It's always frustrating. Whenever you want one, another has gone missing.
Then I discovered...they all turn into coat hangers that end up on the floor of you closet. Once again, the world makes sense.

Re: Mysteries of the Universe
Well, bless my soul, a UFO full of all our missing items, and being whisked off to a planet half way round the galaxy. A little, weird faced alien trying on my sock and your shirt Wolfy. Now I know where the cutlery has gone, that's disappeared over the years.
Lol, I wonder, do they have car boot sales and flog our stuff on a stall?
