Did archaeologists find the Trojan Horse?
Turkish archaeologists excavating the site of the city of Troy on the hills of Hisarlik have discovered a large wooden structure that they believe are the remains of the famous Trojan Horse.
Archaeologists who claimed they had unearthed remnants of the legendary Trojan Horse in Turkey have now found significant evidence that further supports their claim, according to an article by the Greek Reporter.

These excavations include dozens of fir planks and beams up to 15 meters (49 feet) long, assembled in a strange form.
The wooden structure was found inside the walls of the ancient city of Troy.

Re: Did archaeologists find the Trojan Horse?
How exciting that would be. But the Trojan War was supposed to have occurred between 1260 BC – 1180 BC. I have doubts that a wooden structure could maintain its integrity over such a period. Wood is a natural organic material with obvious biological characteristics. In addition to its flammability, vulnerability to bacteria and insects limit its longevity.
In its brevity, the article overlooks mention of how a wooden structure could still exist today. Perhaps it was kept in a sealed place, or treated with some sort of preservative...something like that.

Re: Did archaeologists find the Trojan Horse?
Who knows Syl and Quill whether this is the Trojan horse?
What we do know is legnds have an element of truth from the past
Its how and why Troy ended up being discovered
Does that mean the stories of the Trojan war are true?
Of course not
All it shows is how historical events are embellished for the audience of its readers
In other words there is a very slim truth to stories we have heard from the past
However they are corrupted through beliefs and end up being distorted through time
Who knows if this is the Horse used
It does however add ammunition to an event that may have occurred in history

Well, the City of Troy was a fantasy until they found it - right where they said it would be. So, I wouldn't put anything down to myth these days.
