UK survey: 72 percent of black people unwilling to have Covid vaccine

The Guardian reports:

Advisers from the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) have raised fresh concerns over Covid vaccine uptake among black, Asian and minority ethnic communities (BAME) as research showed up to 72% of black people said they were unlikely to have the jab.

Historical issues of unethical healthcare research, and structural and institutional racism and discrimination, are key reasons for lower levels of trust in the vaccination programme, a report from Sage said.

The figures come from the UK Household Longitudinal Study, which conducts annual interviews to gain a long-term perspective on British people’s lives.

It's worrying, especially as the BAME groups are most likely to suffer from the virus so will be the most likely groups to spread it.

The leaders, religious and otherwise should be shouting from the rooftops that taking the vaccine when offered is the right thing to do.
I know some Muslim leaders in this area have been televised receiving the vaccine and encouraging others to do the same.

More likely, this is because of things like the Tuskegee Syphilis Study. The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male, was an unethical natural history study conducted between 1932 and 1972 by the United States Public Health Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I think it would have more to do with people reading too much anti-vax propaganda online, for some religion will come into it, and reading that the vaccines may contain animal based products could be another reason, plus superstition and false info may have put many BAME groups off from having the vaccine.

African Americans have never been treated like guinea pigs here. In any case the the only guinea pigs were the 10,000 volunteers of various backgrounds, ages, etc who took part in the Covid19 vaccination testing trials.

If this was just about mistrust...why aren't all the Jewish people refusing vaccinations on account of the horrendous betrayal and experiments at the hands of the Nazi's?

There's been so many 'experiments' on humans of every culture, creed and colour from Project MKUltra and the Monster Study to the Aversion Project of 1969 where thousands of homosexuals were handed over to the care of Dr. Aubrey Levin, an army colonel and psychologist convinced he could “cure” them. Do homosexuals refuse the vaccine based on this?

Also, the reason people die from COVID is not the virus but the body's inflammatory response. So perhaps it's key that stress is a known reason for inflammation in the body but it can also come from diet, obesity, lifestyle. It seems structural racism hinges on the premise that BAME people suffer more stress than white people due to being unfairly treated through out life. I'm sure this is true.

But I don't think it's the whole reason BAME folks are dying so much.

Many BAME people are extremely superstitious. I've had BAME clients, dozens of them, convinced that they've been cursed. They believe it so much it made them ill and desperate. They came to me to lift this curse. I told them, you're not cursed. I had one black woman who was convinced her neighbour sent servitors to her house to do her harm. To her it was real. I told her, the only thing going on here is your own fear. I have a good friend who is the same. It's definitely a cultural thing.

The lady throws rose petals to the Gods every day.
I will ask them if they will have the vaccination when I see them.

The parents talked to a friend that was a pharmacist and didn't like the side effects of when they got the shot.

These are people that don't leave their house for weeks on end, so I guess they figure they are safe.

My secretary said she's just not sure either way. She doesn't have a good reason. These are also not people that put much faith in doctors either from what I can tell.

All down to interpretation and how the numbers have been compiled...


Until I see the methodology used behind this claim, and see that it checks out as being reliable, I will continue to doubt it...

My link was from the Office for National Statistics.

It goes into great detail of how and where their data is compiled.

You dont believe in any  official figures because they dont tally with your own calculations.
