Who engineered the delay?  One candidate's brother was the governor of Florida.  He and his cronies (Kathrine Harris) were in charge of the very department that didn't make the deadline.  Follow the bouncing ball.

It was all a charade, and then the conservative Supreme Court swooped in and declared the (wrong) guy the winner.  That "legal timeline" that you talk about, was effectively manipulated.  All you are saying is that the causal chain was more complex, not that it wasn't rigged.

Republicans effectively hid the theft of the votes (of the third largest state) under a morass of Rube Goldberg contraptions (hanging chads, and third-party counts, vote stealing, etc.), hoping the public wouldn't follow the bouncing ball.

Actually, complicit were Al Gore himself, and the Democrats in the Senate, who gave up without a fight.  They were the snowflakes.

That decision was the signal that the Supreme Court had gone political. It was no longer the aloof, hallowed body that people thought. On January 21, 2009, the Obama administration, with a House and Senate in their party's hands, should have expanded the Supreme Court with Obama picks upon Obama picks.

Democrats were stupid to think that the Court had returned to normal.

No, you dumb-fook, the Dems didn't have the House and Senate on Dec. 11, 2000. (I guess you skipped your American civics class in Jr. College.) But they had the whole legislature on January 21st of 2009. As soon as they had complete control, they should have enlarged the Court and appointed liberal judges.

I admit that Democrats are weak on tactics. After all, they are called snowflakes. They should also have also prosecuted Dick Cheney, and put him in prison. I think it's because they are busy problem-solving that they don't go for the jugular.

If they don't go for the slaughter this time, I'm going over to the Progressive Party.
