Russian doctor fighting for her life after managing to "fall" from her office window while criticizing health minister
A top Russian doctor fell 15.24m from her office window as she complained to bosses on a conference call about a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for coronavirus medics.
Dr Yelena Nepomnyashchaya, 47, a mother of two, is thought to have objected to her hospital having to take in coronavirus patients because of an “acute shortage” of personal protection equipment for doctors and nurses.
She is now fighting for her life in intensive care after the fifth floor fall but medics are "refusing to talk" about her chances of survival, TVK Krasnoyarsk reported.
The respected doctor was on a call with Minister of Health for the Krasnoyarsk region Boris Nemik on Saturday at the time of the fall.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the fall.

Reminds me of a lyric from a Belle & Sebastian song: "Why did she do it, was she sad? Was she pushed?"

Deputy head of Krasnoyarsk region’s government Aleksey Podkorytov said Dr Nepomnyashchaya's fall could have an explanation besides those reported by local media.
“So many things could have happened,” he said.
“It could have been because it was spring, the overall stress, something in her family.
“It’s difficult to say what could have happened.''
does anyone else think that's a really bizarre thing to say?
with the rest of the sentence he seems to be implying suicide

Well, unless she was sitting on the window ledge with the window wide open....and it’s very cold in that area at the moment.
So...?

That's a very astute observation

I actually scanned the whole week on a temperature chart and the highest it shows is tomorrow at 23c.
Maybe she did have her window open because she felt too warm, but I really doubt she was sat on her windowsill.
