Drops out of school to go work in the his parents' 'flat-pack' furniture import business;
Meanwhile playing in local 4th division Rugby team on the side;
Business goes belly-up,  local Lib Party branch rescues him by giving him a seat in parliament;
Whereupon he is rewarded by being given a position as a backbench spokesman (& advisor to the minister) on the environment and climate change, and on a couple of economy committees --  areas in which he clearly has such obviously outstanding experience, education and credibility in..

I remember when I held out hope that the right would help come up with a workable solution to climate change. Then they just decided to go into full-on denial mode.

Reagan solved acid rain, for crying out loud, and Nixon created the EPA that Republicans now hate.

It seems that ever since people got scared that moving to green energy might hurt some rich people's wallets, we've had a large contingent of people fully in favor of destroying the planet for humans.
