Re: Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
it is an exit poll but they are rarely more than 10 out either wayFred Moletrousers wrote:Well, a word of warning from an old hand at this sort of thing...
I remember vividly Neil Kinnock strutting up and down a stage in, I think, my native Sheffield, at the close of the 1992 election chanting "we're alright! We're alright!" at the same time as a hapless minion was desperately trying to attract his attention with the news that he and his party had gone down the pipe big time.
I hope to God Corbyn has been defeated...but for a few hours yet I shall keep my fingers crossed and the Champagne on ice.
If he and his dangerous Marxist clique of Momentum economic illiterates and outright thugs have bombed, all well and good in my book. And I hope that it will result in decent and talented Labour moderates, of whom there are many, ditching the whole bunch of Commie bastards and putting in place a leadership that can act as a true Loyal Opposition, which we badly need, that will not only hold the future Government properly to account but also contribute to ensuring that our future out of Europe, as demanded by a large majority of we ordinary folk, will be a bright and prosperous one.
And I, for one, am and always have been firmly convinced that it can.

he's the magic grandpa, how come the people claiming this have not mentioned it until now. People do not like antisemites and they do not like their enablers. If you vote labour you most definatley are an enablerEilzel wrote:I agree, Corbyn was a major factor. Lacking in authority and charisma. The media contributed at least half of the hate against him though.
Regardless, he HAS to go after this and Labour need to regroup around a younger, less divisive leader.
On the plus side, since Brexit won't be an issue in 2024, a lot of those Brexit voters may not go Tory next time.

meh, all of us as ''ordinary'' humans can help ''ordinary'' people, if by that you mean working class. I often do and I'm not rich
helping someone is one thing
actually understanding their position and representing them is a different matter

the bbc, sky and channel 4 have been all pro remain and anti tory for the last 3 years. 40 years of siding with the enemy was on show for all to see about corbynEilzel wrote:gelico wrote:i don't understand this
labour look like they're gonna be kicked into oblivion
why though?
corbyn has allowed his party to be infested with jew hatred
that didn't work for him
he has sucked up to every terrorist group in existence
that didn't work for him
he's offered to plunge the country into trillions of debt in order to throw out freebies to all and sundry
that didn't work for him
he's allowed students to have the ability to vote twice
that didn't work for him
he's even had Diane Abbot out and about sporting odd shoes in the hope of picking up some extra votes
but even that didn't work for him
and if Diane Abbott parading around in odd shoes doesn't get the vote for them then I really don't know what will
wtf is he meant to do?
Buy the billionaire owned media, and have them report on more important things than how he referred to certain groups years ago, communist bogey men and what shoes someone wears - you know, like how the likely Prime Minister is ACTUALLY going to 'get Brexit done'

If Brexit party hadn't existed, many of those who voted them might never have voted Tory. Your party looks to have dominated, and you can't even acknowledge the role Farage's party have played. He said what would happen and looking at Newcastle and Sunderland it has.
The same voters moving in less urban areas are what will have gifted it to Boris.

Erm, clearly a large amount of those 8000 look to have jumped to Brexit from Labour. Brexit party might have helped the Tories if that pattern is repeated.

The Middle Class champagne socialists simple are out of touch with how the majority of this country feel with Labour under Corbyn and Momentum
Could you post some of the tweets here? That's disgraceful.

Happens all the time -- two candidates perceived as left (or right) will hand the election to the one seen as right (or left).

It will diminish into the irrelevant 'Reform' party now. Depending on how the country fares now, 2024 will be interesting.
Looking at Sunderland Central. -13 for Labour, +12 for Brexit. Tories +2.
Of course Labour won there, but Brexit basically taking 10% of the Labour vote in Northern seats is OBVIOUSLY what has cost them big time where Tories and Labour had been closer in the Red Wall.
It is pure Conservative arrogance to say Brexit cost Tories any seats when it appears they've actually won them this election.
NOTE: btw, I know you didn't claim that tommy, I'm sure you are aware of the BP impact here lol

Arrogant? More like you are utterly clueless to the fact the Tories would have won Sunderland, if there was no Brexit Party. It means the votes for brexit have helped Labour hold some seats.
Seriously mate get a grip

Re: Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
So labour hold Sunderland central but are down again by 7,000 votes to 18,000. The Tories had 15,000 and Brexit party had 5,000 seats
Brexit voting here allowed for Labour to hold another seat
If The Brexit party had of not had any candidates in this election
It would have been an even bigger whitewash of labour

They already lurched left 3x now. And this may be their biggest loss yet.
Last time they lost 3x in a row was in 1992. And then they shifted centre. Can you remind me what happened after that? Must've slipped my mind.

Re: Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
By the way, the Tory election record in ten years is shoddy. A coalition, a scrapped majority, a lost majority. Boris has their best result yet and that's thanks to Brexit.
IF (and it is IF) Labour sort their shit out, drop Corbyn and move toward the centre, the Tories are a mess long term.
And don't underestimate the impact of Brexit vote here. Thousands who voted them would never have voted Tory.

Re: Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
A few months ago, I suggested that BJ, Nige and their money-up chums could be deliberately engineering that post-Brexit crash that will be pushing Britain into a recession over the next couple of years...
All prepared to make a few $$billions$$ on the stockmarket, via buying low, selling high, with the odd spot of 'short--selling' and market manipulation to liven things up..
If that oft-predicted recession does hit next year, there could be a few Tories around here "smiling on the other side of their faces".
