Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
The country has clearly clearly stuck two fingers up to Corbyn
Happy Days
Predicted 368 seats for Tories and 191 for Labour

Of course its only the exit poll, but they tend to be accurate. Labours failure on Brexit has cost them their support in the North
I hope this now spells the end of the Far left within Labour. Hopefully many Labour supporters will wake up to this and take back their party from Momentum
Will pick up tomorrow to see if this exit poll is correct

Unsurprising. 4 years of assault by 90% of the British media will work eventually. Works in Thailand too, 50%+ of voters here voted for a former military dictator when given an election. If the media says the same thing over and over, enough people will swallow it.
Hope the government uses its new majority to get things right, but I have little faith.

Jeremy Corbyn might have pulled off a rare feat, making Boorish Johnson look like the preferable choice.

Despite a spirited effort from Tory digital operation, unleashing fresh memes like BorisWave and provoking hatesharing of their quirky Twitter content, the Labour Party has stormed ahead on the social media sites native to the party’s core demographic.
Labour are busy gloating about their impressive retweet and video view counts. They boast:
Labour achieved more than three times the video views compared to the Tories
Rob Delaney’s scaremongering video about NHS alone achieved a total of 13.3m views.
Corbyn has received 2.4 million retweets, compared to the Tories’ 372,000
649,000 people have shared Corbyn’s content on Facebook, of whom 432,000 have never shared a Corbyn post before.
Follower growth on Twitter and Facebook for the Labour Party, boosted by celebrities, has been impressive:

Stop making really poor excuses Eizel
Its down to the very fact Labour under Corbyn is abysmal

Exactly and Twitters is in overload of people saying exactly the same thing
Every single one of the people from my family and community in the north east of England have told me how much they hate and detest Corbyn and his cabal. Middle class hard left ideologues have insisted the opposite. Shame on the bloody lot of this SWP/Militant Tendency bastards

Agreed, but at least unlike with trump, they chose the lesser of two evils correctly this time

Re: Exit Polls Show a Massive Conservative majority
And just as I predicted. The extreme left are not looking to themselves as to their own failures here. They are already going after Jews on Twitter blaming them.
Even Labour supporters hope and believe they will now get their party back through such a drubbing. This proves the extent of hate they have for Corbyn. That they would rather have a Tory Government than see Corbyn in power
The Middle Class champagne socialists simple are out of touch with how the majority of this country feel with Labour under Corbyn and Momentum

Well, a word of warning from an old hand at this sort of thing...
I remember vividly Neil Kinnock strutting up and down a stage in, I think, my native Sheffield, at the close of the 1992 election chanting "we're alright! We're alright!" at the same time as a hapless minion was desperately trying to attract his attention with the news that he and his party had gone down the pipe big time.
I hope to God Corbyn has been defeated...but for a few hours yet I shall keep my fingers crossed and the Champagne on ice.
If he and his dangerous Marxist clique of Momentum economic illiterates and outright thugs have bombed, all well and good in my book. And I hope that it will result in decent and talented Labour moderates, of whom there are many, ditching the whole bunch of Commie bastards and putting in place a leadership that can act as a true Loyal Opposition, which we badly need, that will not only hold the future Government properly to account but also contribute to ensuring that our future out of Europe, as demanded by a large majority of we ordinary folk, will be a bright and prosperous one.
And I, for one, am and always have been firmly convinced that it can.

I agree, Corbyn was a major factor. Lacking in authority and charisma. The media contributed at least half of the hate against him though.
Regardless, he HAS to go after this and Labour need to regroup around a younger, less divisive leader.
On the plus side, since Brexit won't be an issue in 2024, a lot of those Brexit voters may not go Tory next time.

Interesting speculation here I just read
If Boris loses his seat and wins a massive majority
Would he be the the First PM, since Lord Sailsbury. To lead a Government from the House of Lords?
Also a quote from Lord Sailsbury.
“Whatever happens will be for the worse, and therefore it is in our interest that as little should happen as possible” - Lord Salisbury

i don't understand this
labour look like they're gonna be kicked into oblivion
why though?
corbyn has allowed his party to be infested with jew hatred
that didn't work for him
he has sucked up to every terrorist group in existence
that didn't work for him
he's offered to plunge the country into trillions of debt in order to throw out freebies to all and sundry
that didn't work for him
he's allowed students to have the ability to vote twice
that didn't work for him
he's even had Diane Abbot out and about sporting odd shoes in the hope of picking up some extra votes
but even that didn't work for him
and if Diane Abbott parading around in odd shoes doesn't get the vote for them then I really don't know what will
wtf is he meant to do?

Les, much as I respect you and your views, what I find hard to stomach is that even (always assuming the exit polls are right) after the nation has again strongly supported a Brexit-supporting party determined to respect the will of the majority in the 2016 referendum, you and your ilk - and particularly the Liberal Democrats - seem determined to continue your relentless and intentionally damaging campaign of talking down this country and its prospects outside the EU.
Had the polls been going the other way, indicating the emergence of a huge "Rainbow Coalition" of remainers, I and others might reasonably have had grounds for refusing to accept the result on the now established basis that the decision of a majority of ordinary rank and file electors should be regarded by parliamentarians as being without substance and not mandatory.

Looking at Newcastle, I reckon, as Farage claimed, the Brexit party has helped Tories steal it by taking Labour votes in the North.
This really was a Brexit election, not a realignment of British politics.

Interesting the Brexit party cost the Conservatives Sunderland South
16,000 For Labour (down 8,000 from 2017)
13,000 for the Tories
6,000 for the Brexit Party
So far two holds for Labour but down on their votes in each

And £3 million is rich (how many front bench politicians aren't?), but hardly enough to compete with billionaire media moguls.

Yet the loudly Left applauds the Daily Mirror, The Guardian, Channel 4 and to some extent the BBC in dragging up what Johnson and other Tories got up to as university students, public school Hooray Henrys, immature buttock gropers........
The media is always a convenient target for the hatred and ire of losing sides.
And by the way, don't you think Corbyn's record of association with and even succour to terrorist groups is of at least some relevance at a time when this and many other countries are in a constant state of preparedness against attacks and mass murders?

Erm, clearly a large amount of those 8000 look to have jumped to Brexit from Labour. Brexit party might have helped the Tories if that pattern is repeated.

he's offered to plunge the country into trillions of debt in order to throw out freebies to all and sundry
that didn't work for him
he's allowed students to have the ability to vote twice
that didn't work for him
he's even had Diane Abbot out and about sporting odd shoes in the hope of picking up some extra votes
but even that didn't work for him
and if Diane Abbott parading around in odd shoes doesn't get the vote for them then I really don't know what will
wtf is he meant to do?
Buy the billionaire owned media, and have them report on more important things than how he referred to certain groups years ago, communist bogey men and what shoes someone wears - you know, like how the likely Prime Minister is ACTUALLY going to 'get Brexit done'
The BBC has made so many 'errors' this election that benefitted the Tories. It's laughable at this point to claim bias there.
Sky, the Times, the Sun, the Telegraph, the Express and the Mail are all owned by 4 people. And are way more partisan than the admittedly biased but also independent Guardian. Only the Mirror is a fair comparison. One tabloid.

So far two holds for Labour but down on their votes in each
Erm, clearly a large amount of those 8000 look to have jumped to Brexit from Labour. Brexit party might have helped the Tories if that pattern is repeated.
Eh? How has that helped, when without the Brexit Party, the Tories would have won the seat, again a very safe Labour seat

You didn't 'say' anything. You just regurgitated tabloid lines.
And £3 million is rich (how many front bench politicians aren't?), but hardly enough to compete with billionaire media moguls.
les, big up
first of all, i don't read tabloids, i don't watch tv
what i do is look at comments made by certain people. i watch interviews they give, that is how i form my opinions. i don't need tabloid lines, thank you
and even if you insist they are just regurgitated tabloid lines, so what? it doesn't make them any less true.
unless of course you want to refute what i've said
secondly, i wasn't comparing corbyn to millionaire moguls. as you well know, i was comparing him to the average working person.
if you want to vote for such a man then that's your choice but at least own the truth of what he is

Yeah, I forgot rich people aren't supposed to want to help prdinary people. A politician being rich doesn't mean they can't represent working people.

3 1/2 years of ignoring 17.4million people have come home to roost. the british people do not like antisemites, terrorist supporters and marxists, but then it looks like they dont like duplicitous lib dums eitherEilzel wrote:Unsurprising. 4 years of assault by 90% of the British media will work eventually. Works in Thailand too, 50%+ of voters here voted for a former military dictator when given an election. If the media says the same thing over and over, enough people will swallow it.
Hope the government uses its new majority to get things right, but I have little faith.
