Shocking moment two female shoplifters pin Holland & Barrett worker against a window and brutally beat her after she caught them trying to steal from south London shop

This is the shocking moment a female shop assistant is viciously beaten by two teen shoplifters after she appeared to block them from leaving a high street store.

The thugs were caught on camera kicking in windows and repeatedly punching the woman, aged in her 40s, as she stood in the doorway, preventing their escape.

Screaming onlookers cried 'help her' before a group of men burst through the doors and rescued the victim, who was later taken to hospital with head injuries.

The attackers, who are thought to be aged between 16 and 20, managed to get away by running into acrowd of shoppers.

Nasty bitches. Shoplifting is bad enough, but if you're caught, at least have the grace to just admit it. I hope they go down - if they get caught.

Strange place to shop lift. Maybe one or both are hooked on Evening Primrose oil or Echinacea. Hope they catch them.

Another thing: The girl was wearing a tight bodycon 2 piece, and had no handbag - where could she hide such bulky items?

She could have got seriously harmed, or worse - not worth it.

Only security guards are trained to apprehend thieves. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen shopkeepers stare helplessly at fleeing thieves, unable to lift a finger to stop them, cos they are simply not allowed to put themselves at risk.

This could backfire, believe it or not. Unless there is a cctv INSIDE the shop, these thieves could get a clever lawyer to argue that they had done nowt wrong and they were falsely imprisoned - which is a crime. Funny old world.

Retail staff are entitled to stop shoplifters. They generally let them go because they don't fancy running down the road after them. Laughing

Even if these girls say they were "imprisoned", I doubt they'd get away with it - they totally smashed the door up and one of them was really laying into the sales assistant.
