Trump told non-white Congresswomen to go back where they came from. I'd love to

Donald Trump recently tweeted that four U.S. congresswomen should go back to the countries they came from, despite the fact that all but one was born in the U.S. (the other is a former refugee).

If I weren't trying to immigrate to the U.K., I'd actually love to go back to the country I come from.

In the country where I was born, Americans came in all colors, each one just as American as the rest of them.

In my home country, we were proud of the fact that people of all races could live in harmony, not giving up our identities, but instead taking on an additional identity, that of "American," which was about the things that brought us all together, not the things that divided us.

In the country I come from, your childhood friend Jason had a darker complexion than you did, and his parents spoke two languages and his grandmother only spoke Spanish, but you and Jason were just kids who played together after school, had sleepovers, etc.

In my country of birth, people who were born in a different country but came to America were interesting, maybe even exotic -- but the fact that they were foreign-born was never a reason not to like them.

So yeah, I'd like to go back to that America, before Trump started trying to twist my home country into something that it never was.

I hate what Trump and his mark-of-the-beast-wearing goons are doing to our great country. Trump has empowered the cockroach people. They have crawled out of the darkness and nooks and crannies of hate and bigotry.
