Deputy Speaker(should be last poll!!)
Two -way tie poll for Deputy Speaker...
Votes after 10pm tonight will not count, the two candidates with the most votes are ...
Smelly and Didge..only one will become deputy speaker tonight due to Eddie and Edmund pulling out of the running.
Should there be another tie, then the main Speaker and the forum owner will decide decide between them , regardless if they have already cast a vote.

didge- or I will lose all hope in humanity; I hope I'm not breaching my role as Speaker by throwing my support behind a specific candidate

Don't you have something more interesting to do with your time than bitching about a fun poll in a recreation section of a politics forum?

Oh dear, I do seem to be causing problems!
PMs are sacrosanct and I'm not going to disclose anything about the very friendly exchange I had with Ben, but he will know that my decision to "go inactive" in this forum is not due entirely to the unpleasantness of last week. Far from it; I eat dumbos like Catman and Beekeeker for breakfast.
I have spent the past six months more or less study-bound as I tried to grapple with the awesome complexities of sorting out an estate and debating provided me with some badly needed light relief.
Ditto the preceding 18 months when I was caring for my terminally ill wife.
I actually have quite a big place to look after (even though Beekeeper has got it into his two remaining brain cells that I live in a hovel with an outside "dunny"!) and it's been badly neglected for too long.
With the weather now improving, I can begin to devote far more time to sorting things out...and that will inevitably mean far less time to take part in every discussion group.
Sorry to disappoint the usual suspects, but I'm not closing my account and will look in from time to time...but not for a while.
So with thanks to Didge and Joy Division for their kind words and my best wishes to the very worthy Eddie...this time it really is au revoir.

Don't be a stranger despite all the bickering and abuse we've all become a big and dysfunctional family. When times are rough even the worst of enemies can become the best of friends and a source of support x
