The Trump administration took a baby away from his father
The youngest known child taken from his parents at the U.S.-Mexico border was a 4-month-old baby named Constantin Mutu. While he was sent to Michigan to live with a foster family, his father was sent to a detention facility and ultimately deported to Romania, uncertain when he would see his son again.
Caitlin Dickerson, an immigration correspondent for The Times, found Constantin, one of thousands of children separated under the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” border policy. In the latest episode of “The Weekly,” she reveals how he spent five tumultuous months away from those who loved him most.

I don't believe in separating these kids from their families, but if you actually read the article, these folks have been sold an idea that's completely untrue. Simply sneaking into the US will not guarantee you a life of riches.
There are people profiting from selling bullshit to these poor people.

I really think it's much more complicated than that. These aren't migrant workers or dope traffickers, as alleged by Trump. They are people from three Central American countries, fleeing violence, death and intolerable conditions at home. Thus, they are mostly women and children, and they are seeking asylum.
Asylum seekers would ordinarily go to ports of entry (POE's) and simply ask for asylum. But Trump has directed Border Patrol agents at POE's to refuse them, or slow down the processing so that they get frustrated and leave. (Trump explains: "We don't want people from shithole countries.")
Cast out, the asylum seekers seek other crossings. That they are not "illegals" is shown by the fact that the willingly rush up to Border Patrol vehicles and do the same thing they would do at POE's--ask for asylum. They are seeking another form of processing.
What Trump has done is seize upon the fact that they did not cross at a POE, as grounds to treat them as criminals. Thus he confuses what he does, with what Obama did. For, true criminals are separated from their children every day, as we’ve seen on the TV show Law and Order. But, these asylum-seekers are only technical criminals, and not at all serious ones. They just entered differently, due to a Trump-caused glut at the POE.
This is what you get when you mix race with politics, as incidentally, they do in the south. Trump doesn't have any purpose in mind, other than he doesn't like black and brown people. (He calls them people from "shithole" countries.) In fact, they don't contribute to unemployment, as we have a labor force deficit right now. Ie, we want and need them. They contribute to our economy, and fulfill a need. Republicans and Trump simply don't like their color.

This story was about someone from Romania.
Sometimes I wonder why anyone even bothers with links, since reading them is far too time consuming.

Which story? I read the NY Times story about a baby from Romania, but as you point out, Romania isn't Central America.
The real story are the immigrants on the southern border, who are seeking asylum, and are coming from Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, not Romania.

What links? It's difficult for some to read long posts, I know, but it's better to write long posts, giving details, than have a thread go on for three pages because the OP didn't fully explain the specifics.
Maybe we should just have a section cordoned off for those who can't concentrate... like a petting zoo for kids.
