Don't forget, Les, Skunk Stenchbandit hates Meghan because she is black. And he likens her offspring to chimps.

Meghan isn't "black".. She's more a pleasant 'coffee' shade of brown...
Except in the Deep South of the USA..
And those backblocks of England where Smelly's parents' council house basement resides.
I have cousins with darker complexions than Meghan Markle..
Smelly' isn't the only racist slimebag around here -- but also any scum willing to stand by him...
And only Smelly' himself will ever know why he is so mortally afraid of anybody with a darker skin colouring than him..

Well I tried to lighten the mood by trying to get him to say a bit more about his childhood . It would also show the human side of him if he talked about it some more. But he ain't playing ball lol.
He deliberately projects an austere RW persona, tries too hard to come across as a hard-bitten draconian, not buying it!

Hhhmmm sounds like the game might be rigged
Besides I don't really fancy taking hold of your sloppy seconds after thought, should have given it due diligence in the beginning then your fairness as a mod wouldn't be in doubt.

Just an idea....maybe the post could be shown again and people can vote in a poll on whether they saw deliberate racism in the remark posted underneath it..
I saw the post at the time and I did think it was racist, it was obviously likening black people to chimps.
I think Smelly had a Danny Baker moment and just wont admit it.

Then why does eddie disagree
She said you were wrong not to challenge me on it, said she would have done before deciding
So, since you're both moda it means either she is wrong or you are.

Why don't we show the post and I can give my side of the story and then people can decide based on what's said instead of what they want to see

You said you

So if you don't think you are wrong then you must think eddie is wrong, becasue she openly disagrees with how you handled it.
Which means.......... Someone is wrong
So who is it??

Eddie would've asked you, that's all.
Much as I know you want to create conflict, it won't work.
I don't think you'd have had a good answer, so the result would've been the same
Regardless, mods will handle things differently. It isn't about right and wrong, we act how we think is best at the time based on the rules.

It is 9/7. A majority, but only just. Which means 45% of posters have issues of one sort or another with the mods.

This mod didn't vote, I doubt the others did either.
And claims of bias cancel each other out.
So it's 9/5

You are incorrect Les, insofar as the 2 who claimed mods show bias should be added to the no vote, not neutralized.
No different to to Labour remainers and Tory remainers. Both against Brexit, but from differing starting points. Their does don't cancel each other out, they are added together to give the remain vote.

But in this case we have two contradictory statements. We cannot favour both Left and Right. In this case it is more likely the two who voted simply cannot get over their own biases and only see us acting one way or never the other.
And even if you don't invalidate them, it's still 9-7

Re: POLL: Do you think the mods at NewsFix enforce the rules fairly?
Like the referendum, a binary question such as "Are the mods biased?" Yes or no would have been less ambiguous.
But a 9/7 or even 9/5 vote is underwhelming support for the mods as a collective.
More clarity would be provided listing the mods then having a thumbs up or down alongside each name.
It's all semantics and irrelevant, as it's Ben's and Eddie's forum, and their rules.

Andy, everyone has a form of bias. Nobody can deny that, including you and me.
What matters is if the mods can overcome this bias when moderating and they consistantly do
You may not agree, but the reality is. In 95% of moderation, it has been fair, with about 5% questionable. I think that is a sound record.
What you need to do is recognise when you cross the line, just as I do. Yes i think some are given more slack than others, but consistantly the rules have been applied fairly evenly
We need to stop making it personal. As at times, we dont make their lives any easier in how we act
All the best

Every site owner has their own way of doing things.
It's clearly a matter of personal preference that the owner likes having several mods - as simple as that.
No, the number of regulars here is nearer 2 dozen. Which is adequate.
I regard myself as a regular tho I sometimes go for days or even weeks without posting.
No forum is perfect, they all have flaws but this one ticks enough boxes for me to like it.

Re: POLL: Do you think the mods at NewsFix enforce the rules fairly?
I must have missed all those extras. the point it still valid. One person could apply a single unified approach on sites like this and still not have enough work to do. Mostly mods are handed power to make them feel special.Jules wrote:The Devil, You Know wrote:my opinion is, and always has been, why do you need mods on a forum that has less than a dozen regulars. it's bound to be inconsistent.

Ah, you may be right....in which case, you must be super-duper-special because you made yourself the only mod on your forum.
