'Good Morning Britain' faces backlash for airing 'homophobic' LGBT education debate
”No one has forced you to be in a gay relationship. This is a decision that you have made.”

Stupid ignorant woman.
Good Morning Britain faced backlash from its viewers on 21 March after it included a live debate about whether children should be taught about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues in schools.
In response to the news that LGBTQ education classes have been suspended at a number of Birmingham institutions following parent protestation, presenters Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway discussed the subject with Christian mother Izzy Montague and gay father Tom Cox.
Cox insisted that “homophobia is taught” and that an individual is never born feeling such prejudice. “What you are born with is your sexual preference; you are gay or you’re not,” he continued.
“I don’t dispute that it is a parent’s right to what [their child] goes to school for and how you raise them. But I think you’re doing your child a disservice by not allowing them to see that families come in all different shapes and sizes.”
Montague interjected: “I don’t agree with that. I believe it’s a choice. I made a choice [regarding] what I believe is right or wrong, I don’t remember ever thinking to myself “am I gay or am I straight?
“It’s something I have done based on my belief. So even if I was gay, I do believe based on my belief that I feel that a heterosexual relationship is a right course of action for me.”
Addressing Cox directly, she added: “No one has forced you to be in a gay relationship. This is a decision that you have made.’”
Her comments upset viewers, with many taking to social media to share their confusion as to why such a matter should even be argued over in 2019. One Twitter user stated that they “complained to Ofcom” about GMB “letting that controversial debate happen.”

Watched this. Didn't think I'd hear such idiocy on GMB in 2019.
She had no proper answers to anything. Presumably she could not 'be lesbian' at the flick of a switch, so why morons like her think we can do it beggars belief.

People can have such backward views about gays -- I remember reading about a state legislator in Maryland who was against gay marriage until he was confronted by a large number of loving gay couples.
Apparently, he believed that gay people were promiscuous and didn't form loving couples.
Even though he knew they wanted to be allowed to get married.

These are the kind of people that intrinsically have no idea about human beings, not to mention lust or love. She is just stuck in that loop where she thinks everyone can choose how they feel. Does she think one can choose the emotions that one feels? Does she think we can choose what we are attracted to? Does she choose to like certain foods that she likes? The list goes on.
Oh and she’s a Fucking idiot.

I think that people who believe you can choose probably actually can choose -- i.e., they're bi.

I think they just don't want to admit it's nature - because it would shake their beliefs at the core. So they pretend it's a choice to justify views like this woman's. That she thinks teaching 'religious values' can stop homosexual attraction is the most idiotic part of what she said - as if a gay person never came from a deeply religious family
Even bi people have no real choice. Wood gets hard at the sight of beauty, whether you choose it to or not

That's it in a nutshell. To admit it's nature is to contradict God and the Bible.

totally agree with the first part...
but a Bi person can choose which side they want to marry on. (assuming the right person is available of course )
cause regardless of orientation people are supposed to be faithful and not act on attractions once married.

True, but I wasn't talking about marriage. Everyone, gay and straight, has a choice in who they marry (of course, for bi people, that pool is wider lol).
But who they fall in love with and who they are attracted to is no more a choice for bi people than it is anyone else.

@les
Yes but a Bi person does have the choice, which was more of an issue in the past, to choose the 'easier path' if you like and only act on their attractions to the opposite gender.
I don't know about you but there are a lot of people I am attracted to that i would never act on for various social reasons e.g. I will not hit on mates girl (or any married woman really), Professional relationships etc.
I don't see why a Bi person would not do the same if they were concerned about the 'repercussions' of a same sex relationship.

I understand exactly what you mean.
I think we do agree on this entirely tbh, and are just coming from a different angle.
Yes, it's certainly possible for bi people to 'choose' to only act on their attraction for one gender, absolutely.
But whether they do or not, they will still 'feel' attraction, be aroused and potential develop crushes or love for people of both genders. Which was my main point. They have a choice in their actions, but not their feelings/attraction.
It's a differentiation that the women in the OP didn't make. Her claim homosexuality is a choice because we 'choose' to act on those feelings, and wouldn't do if we 'understood' it was morally wrong to do so.

Les regarding the OP
I'm not even going to watch such rubbish to be honest I have no time for it or people that think it.

Odd how so many straight men do love to watch Lesbians at it but would not show the same affection for watching gay men bonk.
