'That is not a crop top, it's a BRA!' This Morning viewers slam woman, 21, who was almost removed from a Thomas Cook flight for 'inappropriate' clothing - after she wears the SAME outfit on the show
A 21-year-old woman who was almost thrown off a holiday flight for dressing 'inappropriately' has divided This Morning viewers, after she was interviewed wearing the same outfit.
Emily O'Connor , 21, from Birmingham, hit the headlines yesterday after she revealed that she was asked to 'cover up or leave' while boarding the Thomas Cook flight to Tenerife on March 2nd - because she was wearing a black crop top and orange trousers. The airline has since apologised for the incident.
However, after Emily appeared on This Morning to discuss the ordeal and robustly defend her clothing choice, many viewers took to social media to say the trainee accountant should have covered up.
Appearing alongside Emily was social commentator Liz Brewer, who agreed with the airline's initial stance and said Emily was wearing what clearly looked like a 'bra' and that she had 'demeaned herself' by wearing it.

Oh for goodness sake
Its the moral police again
How is what she wore some how wrong here?
Maybe in the Middle east but not here
The view to cover up is steeped in a view onto woman, that some how their bodies and they a a woman should feel shame. To express their beauty. Anyone being critical of her. Are the very people sexualizing her themselves
This point shows how and why people are not going to conform to conservative reasoning on this
This is simple a view to hold women to a higher standard than men
The reality is, what harm is there in what she wore? She is not being coerced to wear as many orthordox religious people are. This is based on some antiquated and actual religious view point on how people should cover up. Its not about free expression, but others trying to impose their views

Emily passionately defended her decision to wear the outfit while boarding the flight for a holiday on the Canary Island - and said a poll that she'd put online since the incident had seen 85 per cent of 47,000 people agreeing that the airline was wrong to question her outfit.
'There was a man wearing a vest and shorts a few rows back and no-one was saying anything to him about his clothes.'
The trainee accountant also revealed that she had gone through security and passport control and 'no-one' had asked her to cover up until she got on the plane.

Sorry its inappropriate just as it would be for a man not wearing a shirt or top or indeed the vest mentioned above, all that possibly sweaty skin against the seat, nothing to do with religion. If she wants to wear that at a resort why not. The vest seems to show laziness, the bra seems to be attention seeking.

Really, so exposed skin is the problem here, which would mean covering the face, hands and just about everything to your view here Vintage
All I see here is people with a perceived view based and comparable to islamic conservatisim

It's no more revealing than a strappy summer dress. I think it's more the fact that it looks like underwear, which it does.

The airline has its rules, and if you want to use that airline, follow the rules. Just wear a sleeveless top rather than a bra FFS, or put your jacket on. She held up the flight so no wonder some passengers got pissed off.

Over the top as usual, do you often rub you face in the seat you are travelling in, hopefully you wash your hands fairly frequently.

Why did the rule only apply to the woman then?

You do realise that people have sweaty arms, and that sweat seeks into clothes making them wet also
Hence its you proposing a ridiculous argument
I mean are you going to ban obese people now, being as they phsycially sweat more than others Vintage?

Probably but at least most of us have some fabric as a barrier, you end up sticking to the seat when your skin is in direct contact and you get warm, I don't particularly want to be in direct contact with a surface someone else has been in direct contact with, skinwise that is.
Anyway if you wear something unusual you can expect attention, criticism and compliments, you have to be prepared for that and don't moan about it, that goes for excessive cover up or barely wearing anything at all, up to the person to decide, if they wish to stir it up.

I didn't say there was, its just inappropriate for the situation, as far as I am concerned and others by the seem of things. Some people decide to wear an evening type gown in the morning, they can of course wear what they like but many will find it inappropriate for the time and occasion, someone else could wear a wetsuit to a black tie do, they can if they want but it wouldn't be appropriate in many peoples eyes.

I generally fly in nothing but a thong, but I'm carefree and open minded like that.

So wearing clothes is now some how inappropiate to who exactly?
The thought police?
Born from an era of Victorian prudeness?
How was this inappropiate? Was this because her arms, and shoulders were exposed?
The horror
The problem here is people thinking and decided how others should dress, based on some made up and quite frankly outdated view point on they how perceive to be appropiate.
I mean a man is supposed to have been dressed in shorts and a vest and that was okay. Which it is okay, just as it was for how she dressed.
If people feel offended by how she has dressed here. Then they are the issue here and need to get a life. As this was nothing more than an immature over reaction to how she dressed.

Re: 'That is not a crop top, it's a BRA!' This Morning viewers slam woman, 21, who was almost removed from a Thomas Cook flight for 'inappropriate' clothing - after she wears the SAME outfit on the show
Yesterday, Thomas Cook Airlines issued an apology after threatening to throw one passenger off a flight to Tenerife, because staff branded her crop top inappropriate. 21-year-old Emily O’Connor - who describes the episode as the worst experience of her life - was wearing a pair of orange trousers and a black bralette when she was asked to cover up by staff. But, while she’s adamant there was nothing wrong with her choice of clothes - etiquette expert Liz Brewer argues that her outfit was indeed offensive, and says airlines are right to enforce a dress code. Both women join us in the studio to discuss.
