Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
The Israeli Arabs constituted a security risk, said Jewish passengers, who prevented the flight from taking off by standing in the aisles.
Israeli passengers on a recent Aegean Airlines flight from Greece to Israel forced the cabin crew to remove two Israeli Arabs from the flight before allowing it to take off, according to a report by Israel Radio.
The incident occurred at Athens airport on Monday night, when Jewish Israeli passengers decided that the two Israeli Arab passengers on the flight constituted a security risk. After bringing their concern to the attention of the crew, they prevented the flight from taking off by standing in the aisles.
The two Israeli Arabs finally acceded to crew requests that they disembark, in return for a hotel room and compensation.
According to the airline, “an initially small group” of passengers “very vocally and persistently” demanded that two Israeli Arab citizens be “checked for security issues.”
With the flight unable to take off, the captain called the airport police, who checked the “documents and identities” of the two passengers and found nothing amiss.
But by then, “a much larger group of passengers” had begun protesting the presence of the two Israeli Arabs, “despite the assurances given by the crew, according to Aegean Airlines.”
The flight was delayed by more than an hour-and-a-half until the two Israeli Arab passengers agreed to disembark. Even after that, the group of passengers insisted that the crew conduct an additional security check, causing the captain to warn them that they would be forcibly removed from the plane without compensation.
At that point, the passengers took their seats and the plane took off for Tel Aviv.
"We again thank the two Israeli passengers who agreed to disembark for their understanding and collaboration and we apologize for the whole episode, which was indeed extremely unfortunate,” the Aegean Airlines spokesman said.
MK Michal Rozin (Meretz) called for an urgent meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee to discuss the incident.
"The State of Israel has a responsibility to its citizens," Rozin argued. "I can't be that a commercial company, which has signed aviation agreements with Israel, allows itself to disembark passengers based on their physical appearance at the demands of (other) passengers."
Rozin continued, placing blame for the incident on government leaders, saying that "the prime minister and his ministers sow fear and hate through slander and incitement, and this is the result. The government must understand that marking Israeli-Arab citizens as potential terrorists leads to the loss of morals and values that endangers our future as a society."

A mob, behaving like a mob, just like the settlers who were stabbing the picture of the dead baby. They probably were settlers.

As they had been searched, their credentials checked and they were ISRAELI CITIZENS, I would have thrown off the people making trouble if they didn't sit down and shut the hell up.

Re: Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
So Sassy chooses the same discrminating view point.
Was it wrong of the passengers?
Yes
But does anyone here have any comprehension of the daily threat of terrorism Israeli's face daily?
No
This is down to daily terrorist attacks, which has now seen acts commited by Israeli Arabs also.
So is it understandable some would now view with fear Israeli Arabs?
Yes
This is down solely to the Palestinian authorities stoaking up hate over lies around the Mosque, inciting and comminting child abuse with children to commit terror acts.
This has had a knock on effect of Israeli's
At no point did any of the passengers ask for themk to be removed, but checked.
The aircrew decided to remove them.

Israir Passengers Abuse, Threaten Flight Attendant Over Duty-free Chocolate
'Passenger violence against cabin crew is growing,' Israir says in statement after a group of passengers disrupts flight to Bulgaria.
A disagreement over duty-free chocolate between a passenger and a flight attendant on a recent Israir flight to Varna, in Bulgaria, came close to degenerating into physical violence and led to the questioning of a group of passengers by the authorities in Bulgaria.
Even before the flight departed, the rowdy behavior of the passengershad brought them to the attention of airline officials at Ben-Gurion Airport.
A security officer on the flight declined to intervene in the argument because it was not a security incident.
The cause of the argument is not clear from a video filmed by one of the passengers. A woman passenger is seen standing and shouting coarsely at the flight attendant with the duty free cart, who is serving another passenger.
Two other passengers, a woman and a man, then enter the argument, with the man getting out of his seat and threatening violence against the flight attendant.
"You work for me," shouted the first woman. "I paid for the flight and I want chocolate. Another passenger, reportedly her sister, chimed in with "sell her the chocolate, you piece of rubbish. What, is she an Arab?"
When the attendant threatened to have them removed from the plane, the first woman's husband responded, "I don't give a fuck for you or Varna."
The group was freed after questioning and is due to return to Israel tonight. The airline considered not allowing them to board the return flight, but decided that they had no legal reason to do so. Israir said it would take additional measures against them.
"Passenger violence against cabin crew is growing," Israir said in a statement following the incident. "Israir is doing and will continue to do everything to ensure a high level of security and safety, by enforcing defined protocols in such cases."
Two prominent lawyers who deal with aviation law told Haaretz that the behavior of the unruly passengers could cost them between one and five years' imprisonment, if convicted by a court.
"Aviation law holds that every person in an aircraft has to obey the instructions of the captain or a crew member designated by him in the interests of the security and safety of the craft, the passengers, the crew and the baggage," said Ron Gant and Gadi Elbaz.
Regarding the possibility of legal action against the passengers, the lawyers said that the law provides for between one and five years' imprisonment in cases of failure to behave appropriately and obey the instructions of the captain – "if it is determined that the person acted in a manner that was liable to endanger the security of the aircraft."
Gant and Elbaz, both of whom have acted as legal advisers to the Pilots' Union and the Civil Aviation Authority, added that "this sort of incident is not rare, but the authorities usually refrain from taking legal action due to the difficulty of proving the behavior of the passengers.
"In this case, with everything having been documented, we hope that the authorities will use the legal option and send a clear message. If it becomes known that violent behavior in the air will end with legal proceedings, it's possible we'll see behavioral changes."
As one Facebook user wrote in response to the video, "flight attendants from foreign airlines call the flight to Tel Aviv – Hell Aviv. I wonder why?"

Again protesting they be checked, which is down to the now daily terrorist attacks.
Again it was the decision of the pilot who asked them to leave, not the passengers.
Was it wrong?
Yes
Is this because of incitement by the Palestinian authorities in Hamas and the PA, which has led to daily terrorism?
Yes
Nice how a story is twisted to make out the passengers demanded them to leave, of which was not even the case. They asked that they be searched
But I have come to expect nothing less from that lying left wing rag which is an insult to journalism

Again at no point did any passenger asked them to be removed, no matter how poorly you try to claim otherwise.
The Pilot clearly took the easier option to just have them removed.
As I say any excuse for that embarressing left wing rag of a media source to again lie again in its headline.

Israeli Arabs remobed from flight
On Monday, Israeli passengers on Greece’s Aegean Airlines created a stir by demanding that two Israeli-Arabs be removed from the flight. Though the Israeli passengers told flight attendants they would not allow the flight to leave with the Arab-Israeli men on board, flight attendants initially ignored their complaints and continued to go about their business as usual.
Nevertheless, the Israeli passengers would not desist, violating take-off procedures by refusing to sit during take-off. This effectively prevented the plane from departing. Eventually, an argument erupted between the Israeli and Israeli-Arab passengers, leaving the Greek crew stunned and unable to follow the verbal altercation.
Seeing no end in sight, the crew offered the Arab-Israelis a hotel for the night and a flight in the morning. The Israeli passengers continued to create a stir even after the Arab-Israelis had disembarked. Ultimately, the crew offered the Israelis the ultimatum that if that they did not settle down, they would be forcibly removed without compensation.
In a statement, Aegean said that “On the scheduled Aegean flight A3 928 from Athens to Tel Aviv on January the 3rd, an initially small group of some passengers very vocally and persistently asked for two other Israeli passengers to be checked for security issues.”
“While it is indeed unfortunate that they were possibly racially profiling the customers,” the airline continued, “indeed their fellow Israelis, because safety must be first, the pilot did feel compelled to delay the flight call the police so to check again the two Israeli passengers documents and identities. This did take some time of course but the documents were indeed checked and were OK.”

Re: Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
By what planet does that make it conclusive?
I am sure I can find also at least one minor newsmedia that said they demanded when no such request was made?
Even your own report makes no such claim

Again it seems the left twist a story when even the Aegean never claimed they demanded them to leave
I suggest you stick to what the company states, not what a media states

And they were checked and cleared. It's in the article. It's conclusive in that the Israeli passengers wouldn't take up take off positions until the two Arab Israeli's were removed from the aircraft. They have received an apology from the airline.

Greek airline apologizes for ejecting two Arab-Israelis from plane
According to Israel Radio, which broke the story, the Jewish-Israelis told the flight attendants they would not allow the plane to take off with the two men on board. Despite the scene they caused, the flight attendants went about their preparations as usual and the captain prepared for take-off.
However, when the crew was ready for takeoff, the Jewish Israelis refused to take their seats, preventing the aircraft from taking off.
An argument broke out between the Jewish and Arab Israeli passengers. The plane’s Greek crew was in utter shock and could not fully comprehend the exchanges between the sides.
The argument carried on for nearly 90 minutes, after which the crew offered the two Arab-Israeli men a hotel for the night and a flight the following day. They took up the offer to return to Israel on Tuesday morning.
The Israelis on board continued to make a scene even after the two Arab-Israelis deplaned, demanding that the crew conduct an additional security check. The crew, fedup with the Israelis, refused to give in to their demands and told them to take their seats or be taken off the plane without compensation.
The Israelis gave in to the threat and the plane made its way to Israel.

Re: Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
those initially protesting should have been removed after they first refused cabin crews.
they should not have let is escalate they should have taken those people off the plane and taken off they woudl not need to give them any compensation as the tickets clearly say you MUST obey the instruction of the cabin Crew thus anyone that didn't sit when instructed has No legal right to be on that plane and are in fact a confirmed security threat by their confrontation towards the flight crew.
they should have been kicked off and added to a no fly list as potential terrorists that tried to take command of a plane from the active flight crew.

The Pilot asked them to leave, maybe you should ask him, if you think its so funny, but then the only thing funny is your desperation to continue to lie
Well I did say go on Didge gimme a laugh and true to form you delivered as I expected and gave me one.
So tell me why you think the pilot asked the two Israeli passengers to leave the aircraft.
Was it because they;
were a bit smelly, or
they looked a bit dodgy, or
they were wearing funny looking clothes, or
was it because the other passengers refused to take up take off postions to allow the aircraft to depart as said in the statement by the airline?
Or do you want to produce your Sandie Shaw video now and brass it out a little bit longer
Like I said aske the Pilot Irn, as he was the one who removed him, as it does not matter what answer I give as only he would know why he removed them.
Again what is important here is again a story was twisted and you twisted here and now go off tangent thinking I have a crystal ball.
That is again desperation on your part

My view is the Israeli passengers were in the wrong, what I do have issue with is how a story is taken from the original reports and then fabricated. At the end of the day a plane is hardly going to kick of all passnegers for the sake of two, sad as it is. The problem has been the constant terrorism in Israel of late which has been incited by the Palestinian authorities, of which nobody wants or dares to blame for all of these problems. People will get be fearful and can understand wanting pappers checked with how bad European nations have been of late with allowing criminals into the EU. That more than anything is understandable, but there is no defense for simply discrminating off becuase of what a person looks like. That is why I only have issue with what was reported and again what was twisted in the media and then backed by two posters, who are supposed to be balanced and fair who as seen are far from it. As in no report did it state that they asked for the two passengers to be removed but for thrier papers to be checked

Re: Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
According to Israel Radio, which broke the story, the Jewish-Israelis told the flight attendants they would not allow the plane to take off with the two men on board.

So, were they 'twisting it'?

"Which out-of-court statements related by a testifying witness count as inadmissible hearsay, and which ones do not and therefore may be admitted into evidence?"
Among the latter are 'speech acts', or 'performative utterances'. These are words that perform an act, rather than describe things or events. During a marriage ceremony, when the bride says 'I do', it is not hearsay, but an action performed verbally.
If a gang of rogue Jewish passengers say "they would not allow the plane to take off with the two men on board," they are declaring their actions. That is not hearsay.

Was the people at israeli radio there to witness the event?
No, hence their comments are hearsay, even more before they have had the full story
By the way it is Israeli Jewish passengers.
Lets have things right and not based on antisemitism thanks

The only valid unbiased view will come from the airlines who issued the statements, what is said in the media or the radio will be hearsay if they invent things not stated by the airlines, of which the airlines have been very specific at what the israelis demanded, and that was for security checks.
Are you saying now an Israeli radio group and its people are a reliable witness to an event in Athens when they were not there?

No, actually the subject to which you were responding was sassy's comment: "the Jewish-Israelis told the flight attendants they would not allow the plane to take off..." It was probably 'reported' many places, but that is irrelevant. Her point was that they (the Jewish-Israelis) made certain speech acts; you responded secondarily to her point; ergo, she controls the subject.

I suggest you read again, it states it was reported by the ISraeli radio, from where and what source?
Again I have not seen one source that backs up any views to the passengers saying anything other than secutity checks and this is backed up by the Airlines at Athens itself. So the onus is to find the source of this claim made, of which I see no source, thus the claim is hearsay.

Re: Israeli Arabs Removed From Flight at Demand of Jewish Passengers
Interesting Sassy's link because she forgot to post the most telling part which again states they wanted them to have security checks, but the airlines also states this:
A statement by Aegean said, “On the scheduled Aegean flight A3 928 from Athens to Tel Aviv on January the 3rd, a small group of passengers very vocally and persistently asked for two other Israeli passengers to be checked for security issues.”
“While it is indeed unfortunate that they were possibly racially profiling the customers, indeed their fellow Israelis, because safety must be first, the pilot did feel compelled to delay the flight call the police so to check again the two Israeli passengers documents and identities. This did take some time, of course, but the documents were indeed checked and were okay.” Gerogiannis went on to explain that the crew had tried for over an hour and a half to resolve the situation and that the “unwarranted” and “unfair continued reaction by a large group of passengers. However, the two unwanted passengers did not feel comfortable to fly.”
Seek the truth and you shall find it, so it seems now clear that these two passengers did not want to fly with the Israelis as well, no doubt rightly over how they were being sterotyped. Again I rightly condemn the passengers who did racially profile them but I also understand how daily terrorism may have created such paranoia. What I find appalling is how again the media's of the left leaning views fabricate. It was not even all the passengers but a small group of them, which shows how that has been blown out of proportion also. Like I say these who did protest I completely condemn for their behaviour, but lets have the facts straight and not inventions made by the left leaning media

That's not the subject of the post that sassy put down. Your comment was secondary to her post. In order to comment legitimately, you've got to accept the parameters upon which you enter the conversation.
Since we are all feeding off of news reports, by your theory any truth could be avoided by claiming it was hearsay. For example, I have never met you and certainly I have never heard you speak or act. Therefore, you are hearsay, Didge. All actions you have taken, all reports about you...your very existence, is hearsay. You could be excluded altogether, by your own theory.

Yes i could be excluded but I am only going off what the airlines have stated he seemed to be the only genuine tellers of this actual story, without prejudice. Again I suggest you read the whole account and not a snipbit as she offered as you are falling prey to bad evidence by doing so Quill and we both know that. The fact is the radio made a claim based not off any source from the the actual airlines, which then leaves the passengers, so please tell me, what passenger stated this to the radio, if at all that even happened? Please show the source of their claim, otherwise its nothing but hearsay, as you well know when such events happen, oiften misleading statements are made. At no point have I even claimed to be a witness to the events but going off actual statements made by the airlines.
