A beggar arrested on Deansgate over Christmas was found to be carrying £515 in cash
A beggar was found carrying more than £500 in cash after being arrested by police in Manchester city centre.
Ludovic Gabor, 57, was detained by police for begging on Deansgate over the Christmas period.
When arrested, police officers discovered Gabor, who has a home address in Gorton, was carrying £515.87 in cash.
A photo of the beggar's stash shows a wad of notes and a pile of coins as well as a paper cup and an empty crisp packet.
Gabor, of Woodland Road, Gorton, was fined £250 with £85 costs in court after pleading guilty to begging and a breach of conditional discharge, police said.
Police officers from GMP City Centre, posting on Facebook, said: "£515.87 found in possession of a man who was arrested for begging on Deansgate over the Christmas period.

As what point were they trying to prove?
