Civilised society crumling

Man stabbed on a train in front of terrified passengers in Guilford area today, assailant got off the train and is being sort by police. Where are we going with all the increasing aggression and tendancy to violence that people don't seem to care who witnesses it.

In front of his 14 year old son ffs.
His attacker was unknown to them.
One can surmise this was a random attack by a nut job.
If it had been a planned murder, it would have happened away from witnesses and cctv.

Black, bearded, 20/30's, approx. 6ft. slim build wearing all black clothes and white trainers.
Possibly bald, man of similar description stopped a woman walking a dog in the vicinity of where the assailant left the train and stated something like i'm in a lot of trouble' and ran off leaving his hat behind.

I'm afraid that we're suffering the toxic combination of police numbers being cut to dangerously low levels and the imposition on most of those that are left of silly political correctness that requires them to spend too much of their time, not out preventing and investigating crime, but attending mandatory elf 'n' safety and diversity and equality "awareness" courses.

We had an absolutely appalling incident in broad daylight in our tiny rural community only a few days ago when a young girl, alone in the house at the time, answered the doorbell to be confronted by a man who grabbed her and forced her through the rooms, including upstairs, with a knife at her throat demanding cash and jewellery.

Fortunately someone working in the nearby churchyard heard her screams and called the police who, to their credit, turned out quickly and in force and caught the man hiding among some trees.

That incident was at least a great improvement on another recent occasion when I phoned the police to tell them that that the intruder alarm was going off in the early hours of the morning at a neighbouring house and that I knew the owners to be abroad on holiday.

"We have no-one available at present, so could you go round and make sure that everything is alright and if possible turn the alarm off," I was told by the call centre.

you should hasver replied ok...but if i do I'm taking a shot gun.

then phoned em back 5 mins later and said...Its ok.....I shot the intruder no rush...

when 2 mins later 200 coppers an armed response team and 5 helicopters turned up for nothing and the chief says YOU lied...you can in truth say so did you...you said you had no one available......

The cuts to the police forces in the UK are really of concern, more now to me than before, obviously.

I understand that right-wing governments cut government spending, they always have and that's what they're basically all about, but why would you cut from such an essential function of government?

Just saying, in America, they'll cut lots of things before they cut police, firefighters, etc. You've got to have enough well-trained first responders to maintain peace.

The reason for most knife crime has to do with mainly drugs

Hence having more Police would have never saved this individual, espcially as the Transport Police is a seperate entity from the Metropolitan Police

You deny the drug gangs a source of revenue and makes the drugs more safe

If the case was more cops, then why in places like Denmark, do they now have less cops and even more so less prisons?

You also have to tackle relative poverty, which again what Denmark has done very well
