Homeless charities have welcomed the development of the safe spaces
This comes as violence against homeless people in the UK continues to rise
More than one homeless person died every day in the UK during the last 12 months

These are the type places going up around San Francisco...
No plumbing or electricity, but takes up somewhat the same footprint as a tent.

How about... British councils/housing associations start giving out available homes to British people first and foremost... instead of giving them to any foreign national...!?

Never going to find a one-size-fits-all solution to homelessness. Some of them would have to be forced into one of those little boxes, yet happily camp in a tent.

Temporary emergency accommodation is only a solution to one person's immediate "housing crisis"...
Anybody stupid enough to actually want to believe that temporary emergency shelters will somehow solve chronic homelessness is simply "part of the problem -- not part of the solution"..
As long as government bureucracies and various charities are more interested in peddling their own agendas rather than actually addressing the underlying causes, none of them will make even a dent in the long running homelessness problems.

One of the underlying causes, in this country at least, is the relentless and unsustainable increase in the population.

One of my Grand Daughters has 7 children, 6 girls and 1 boy. Just imagine those 6 girls in 20 odd years, how many will they add to the population ?

It's a little like cutting off the head to cure the disease. And how many are going to be needed? There are endless numbers of homeless now.
