Snow leopard shot dead at Dudley Zoo after escaping area

A snow leopard was shot dead after a zookeeper left the enclosure door open and it escaped.

Dudley Zoo said eight-year-old Margaash was killed after getting free on 23 October when the zoo had closed and all visitors had left.

An investigation found the door to the enclosure was left open at 17:00 GMT through "keeper error".

Should have shot the keeper. What a thing to do. Surely they could have used a dart gun.

Problem is H/T, a dart still leaves them active for up to 10 minutes. Isn't there some way to use a net ?
These Cats are beautiful and there isn't many left !

That faux "zoo" should lose all licences and registrations...

Shut the shithole down, sell off all assets (and donate all proceeds to a relevant wildlife fund), and move the animals to a genuine place that will take care of them..

Some people there are definitely in the wrong business.

Same goes for those other pretend "zoos" in the likes of Denmark and Sweden who have been culling animals in recent years because they claim they can't afford to look after them any more..
