A majority of Britons would now consider voting for a new centre-ground political movement amid soaring dismay at the state of the main parties, an exclusive poll has revealed.

The exclusive research for The Independent found the number of those ready to back a new party has leapt in just four months after a summer in which Labour’s antisemitism crisis raged and the Tories tore themselves apart over Brexit.

In a particularly worrying development for Jeremy Corbyn, the BMG Research survey showed that a third of voters – including a third of those who backed him at the 2017 election – would support Labour splitting up as a party.

We need a new party. It’s time. We can’t keep getting stuck in the same ruts and expect change.

Scrapping the old system entirely.  That's essentially what I'm for, except, with the US, I'm calling for new territorial boundaries as well.

I'm all for a new system, let alone a new party.

Smile

Well...

If the Labour Party split, to leave the extremists and rabble-rousers on the hard left...

Then picked up a few liberal and democratic minded centrists, and attracted across a few conservative "wets"..

You could have a more "pragmatic" centrist party, using a free market/regulated market mix (rather than leaving everything to mythical "market forces"..), under-pinned with genuine tax reform, universal health cover, decent education, and a "livable" minimum wage, respectable workplace standards, and a proper social welfare "safety net".

Otherwise, it's just all empty promises..
