In the drink !
All over the TV today, A woman falls off a Cruise Ship In the middle of the night, 10 hors later she's rescued by the Coast Guard. How did she fall off, the Guard Rails are 5ft high' she must have "tread" water for the whole 10 hours ! Is that possible ?

Re: In the drink !
I read about this this morning.
She said she used relaxing techniques and sang to herself to keep afloat for the 10 hours she was in the water.
She is a very lucky lady.

Re: In the drink !
This just don't sit right with me tbh.
If she fell at the back she could get dragged along or under by the stream from the ship.
Hard to fall off the stern anyway. You have to climb through and 7 floors are so very high, she would hurt herself falling.
10 hours in the sea, treading water is exhausting, many would drown.
If I'm wrong, then I take my hat off to her, I'd be terrified of sharks around me ugh.

Re: In the drink !
She was lucky she was in a no shark area, though most sharks dont harm people anyway.
If the sea was rough she wouldnt have survived, but if it was relatively calm she probably just lay back and floated and swam to keep warm..
I dont believe anyone could tread water for 10 hours.

I agree. I don't know why, but I had the same feeling when it was on the news this morning. She was like too cheerful and unaffected.

Re: In the drink !
Latest news, the woman was drunk, had row with her Boyfriend, climbed over guard rails and jumped.
Still like to know how she "trod" water for 10 hours while drunk !

Can't you float
I don't think it's implausible
If you're a strong swimmer and/or learned young(under 3 )
then staying on the surface(mix of floating, treading and sculling) uses about as much energy as walking
the other issue might have been the cold and the booze may have helped with that

Re: In the drink !
Being drunk is probably exactly what saved her.
And her boyfriend should dump her arse for good now. Stupid cow.

Re: In the drink !
If she just wanted her 5 minutes, it's a very extreme way of getting it.
I agree, she sounds like a stupid cow who deliberately jumped overboard because she was drunk and upset.
