This mesmerising footage shows the city of London in all its colourful glory more than 90 years ago.

Filmed in 1924, the stunning clip is claimed to be the 'earliest known original colour film' of Britain's capital.

It was made by British-born Claude Friese-Greene, a cinema technician, filmmaker, cinematographer and son of moving-image pioneer William, who travelled across the UK with a colour film camera to create his famous collection of clips, The Open Road.

The filmmaker's trip culminated in London with scenes that captured the daily life of Londoners as well as several iconic cityscapes.
