First topic message reminder :

The Christian parents of a 10-month-old girl who died of malnutrition and dehydration in western Michigan after they allegedly refused to get medical help for religious reasons face life in jail. Seth Welch and Tatiana Fusari, both 27, were charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse on Monday over the death of their daughter, Mary, on Thursday.

In incredible footage filmed in a Kent County court, Welch stared at the judge with his mouth wide open as she read out the charges, while Fusari burst into tears. First responders found Mary with sunken eyes and cheeks after Welch called 911 to say he had found the child dead in her crib. An autopsy on Friday ruled her cause of death as malnutrition and dehydration due to neglect by adult caregivers.

Welch and Fusari, who also shares her husband's surname, were brought in for questioning where they admitted to noticing their daughter was skinny and underweight as early as a month before her death.

You do realise the above contradicts?

No it doesn't.

This is the part which is causing controversy.

An autopsy on Friday ruled her cause of death as malnutrition and dehydration due to neglect by adult caregivers.

Of course, the article is from the Mail, so it's not necessarily accurate. The implication is that the parents actually caused the malnutrition and dehydration as well as failing to seek help.

Read it slowly

How can they be convicted of neglect, when you claim in your first point, that the child died. Based on a view it had nothing to do with neglect.

Read what you have written

You claim that they cannot be convicted of murder and yet calim they might be convicted of neglect. After knowing it was not neglect and say they might be convicted of neglect

Come again?

No its from many articles

What has the mail got to do with anything here, when they are not the origin of the story?

The implication here is sound

The parents neglected to allow their child to be treated

Thatg is abuse and neglect

Youa re defending the parents

Go figure

Which is not based on their abuse but that they are Christian

That makes your views poor and biased

An autopsy will try to determine the direct cause of death... and in this case it was found to most likely be malnutrition/dehydration as being the direct cause of death...

Now... unless the examiner has categoric empirical evidence on the direct cause of the symptoms of malnutrition/dehydration, and has categoric empirical evidence against any/every other possible cause of the symptoms of malnutrition/dehydration... then they have no business making such a definitive claim of blame, when it is really only speculative conjecture...!

It is for a court to hear all the relevant evidence, and a jury to consider and decide the verdict...!

That is all I am saying...!

Well I am still waiting that you have evidence that coroners will not exhuast such conditions?

The autopsy examiners are the ones doing the autopsy and making the claims of definitive cause & blame... it is up to them to show their evidence supporting that, and evidence that shows they have proven the impossibility of any other cause...!

They knew a month before that their own child was unwell

THIS IS NOT A TRUE CLAIM DODGE!!!

YOU ARE TWISTING HERE!!!

THE ARTICLE CLAIMS THAT DURING POLICE INTERROGATION, THERE WAS AN ADMISSION THAT THE CHILD MAY HAVE LOOKED A LITTLE BIT SKINNY 'THE MONTH BEFORE'...

FIRSTLY... THIS WAS PROBABLY PRESSURED OUT OF THEM TO SAY... AND TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT...

SECONDLY... ALL CHILDREN HAVE CHUBBIER AND SKINNIER APPEARANCES WHILE GROWING... AS THEY NORMALLY CHUB OUT A BIT AND THEN STRETCH OUT IN A GROWTH SPURT, RESULTING IN THEM LOOKING A BIT LESS CHUBBY AND LOOKING A BIT "SKINNIER"...

THIRDLY... YOU SAYING "A MONTH BEFORE" SUGGESTS A WHOLE 30 DAYS HAD PASSED... WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM THE ARTICLE SAYING "THE MONTH BEFORE", WHICH COULD MEAN LOOKING BACK FROM THE 2ND OF AUGUST TO THE 30TH OF JULY, AS THAT COULD WELL BE CLASSED AS "THE MONTH BEFORE" TOO...

IT'S ALL A BIT ABSTRACT REALLY... SOUNDING A BIT EMBELISHED WITH "EDITORIAL LICENSE"...

ARE THERE ANY REAL & UNAMBIGUOUS DETAILS ABOUT THIS TRAGIC CASE...?

Which is really a red herring by you Tommy

These are the facts

The child did die of malnutrition and dehydration

No matter the condition, the parents did nothing and did so based on a hostile belief of the medical proffession

1) Booom, yes it is a true claim by the parents

2) no you are

3) That has to be the most idioctic idiocy I have ever heard from someone that does not even know what is wrong when someone who has no idea on biology

The parents did not say less chubby or less skinny

You have invented that Tommy

They said that she was skinny and underweight

4) I do not know hopw to interpret the next bullshit reply. Its an attempt to try an deflect

The child was ill and skinny and underwieght

the parents recognised this, by their own words

You are ignoring that

Enphatically

So 30 days ago she was skinny

30 days later she is dead

How do you now want to ignore that evidence Tommy?

Its only you introdcuing abstract here Tommy
