Women 'wanting to be as pure as possible again for their husbands' are fueling virginity-restoring operations on the NHS at a cost of £1,000 a time, figures reveal
[*]Hospitals have admitted to doing 109 surgeries between 2007 and 2017
[*]Figure is likely to be far higher due to only nine hospitals providing data
[*]The half-hour operation involves the hymen being stitched or reconstructed
[*]Many women regret their first time, feeling it was impure or not 'sacred'
[*]Certain women may also feel 'overwhelmed' by religious guilt, expert says

Oh my good Lord. Some people are so incredibly stupid and vain! Don’t these women realise that if a man loves you and is a decent guy, (as most guys are really), then he’s not going to care about your hymen?
Can’t these idiotic females just stick to dying and styling their hair and wearing a little make-up, like most of us?
What’s with all the lies?

That is utter insanity, and it sounds like it could be somewhat dangerous as well. I don't think doctors should do anything unnecessary that could also carry a risk of infection.
Utter madness, what modern man expects to marry a virgin in the first place?

Building a relationship based on a lie is doomed to failure....and it's all so pointless....if man only wants you because you are a virgin, that man isn't worth anything.

What gets me, is how any of this was aproved to be done on the NHS?
This is not a necessary procedure, so why is such operations being approved for free?
And we wonder why the NHS is falling at the seems, when they waste money on stupid things like this.

I quite agree, there is no medical reason to have this done.
If its done for psychological reasons, maybe therapy would be a better option.
