Carer who guided pen of dying millionaire as he signed over half his fortune to her stripped of windfall
A carer who steered the pen of a dying millionaire as he signed over almost half his fortune to her family has been stripped of her windfall by a judge.
Donna Henderson "guided the hand" of retired London banker Marcel Chu as he lay on his death-bed, to make out a will handing almost half his £1million estate to her and her children.
The former financier had already made a will in 2008, dividing his estate between his immediate family and a close friend, and leaving nothing to Mrs Henderson.
But that was before the carer "took control of his life and excluded his siblings" during the final year before he died.
The deathbed will - dated May 9, 2014, just two days before Mr Chu passed away aged 73 - left 40 per cent of his wealth to Mrs Henderson and her children.
But Judge Nigel Price has now ruled the will invalid after handwriting expert confirmed the signature on the will was not Mr Chu's, leaving the £60-a-day carer with a £85,000 lawyers' bill.
Given his condition, the dying millionaire lacked mental capacity when the document was signed, the judge ruled.
The court heard the pensioner made his fortune in banking before retiring to his £700,000 flat in South Woodford, East London.
He had "a relatively close relationship" with his brothers, Allen and Stanley Chu, and sister Eva Young, for most of his life - appointing them executors of the will he made in 2008.
Under that will, the siblings each got 26 per cent of his estate, whilst a niece and nephew got 14 per cent and a close friend seven per cent.
But Mr Chu, who worked for Barclays, suffered from Morvan's syndrome - a rare auto-immune condition "which caused memory loss and confusion" and left him reliant on carers towards the end of his life.

What a blood sucking cow she is.
I hope the £85,000 lawyers fee she owes teaches her a lesson, though I suspect women like her will always be looking out to leech off someone, somewhere.

She was on £60 a day and that’s not bad money! She’s a greedy cow and also stupid, if she didn’t think that the will would be contested.
If she was smart, she’d have allotted herself about 10% and the will may never have been contested.

Evil greedy cow. Glad she lost the money, she wasn't entitled to a penny of his money.
