Is this proof genes skip a generation? The grandchildren of vintage stars who look just like their famous relatives
[*]This picture gallery of famous stars and their grandchildren shows that genes may in fact skip a generation
[*]It shows stars like Paul McCartney, Kirk Douglas and Grace Kelly and compares them to their grandchildren
[*]They have a lot of shared features with their descendants, from the same eyes, to hair and the same smiles
The idea that genes skip a generation is a popular one and these revealing photos may finally be the evidence that's needed to prove the theory.
The images show famous stars and compare their likeness to their grandchildren - with stunning and surprising results.
The younger generation seem to be the spitting image of their illustrious, famous grandparents and they look almost indistinguishable in some cases.
One set of photos show a young Paul McCartney pictured in his Beatles days in 1963 and compare him with his grandson Arthur, 18, who looks to have inherited his good looks.
Other vintage stars compared with their grandchildren include Kirk and Cameron Douglas, Grace Kelly and Charlotte Casiraghi and Steve and Steven R. McQueen.
The stars have several shared features with their descendants, from the same eyes, to the same hair and even the same smiles.
