Police in America have said that Robert Wagner is now a 'person of interest' in the death of his wife Natalie Wood in 1981. Shocked

Or they were falling down drunk and don't remember. I don't think we will ever know what happened that night.

Oh no doubt that drink and drugs were involved. Personally I think it was either a threesome that got out of control or Wagner was jealous over Walken and pushed her in.

Is there new evidence then? If they haven't managed to come up with the truth in more than 35 years, they're not likely to do so now without new evidence.

I couldn't post a link last night as the story was just breaking.

Wagner has consistently changed his story, the captain admitted he lied initially and the case was reopened in 2011 after Natalie's family insisted her death was suspicious. A year later her death certificate was officially altered from accidental drowning to "drowning and other undetermined factors".
Christopher Walken has remained tight lipped about the whole affair, it would be interesting to hear his version of events.
If anyone remembers the funeral...Wagner heartbroken throwing a flower on her coffin before it was lowered....I remember thinking at the time it was possibly his best performance ever.

They know Wagner lied, they have had this information since the captain changed his story in 2011. scratch

I had such a crush on Natalie Wood after Rebel Without a Cause. But she turned out to be a poor actress and a drunk to boot. There were a lot of those in the 50's and 60's, including Wagner.

There has never been enough evidence to charge anyone of homicide in Wood's death, and there never will be. I think they reopen the case, occasionally, when Los Angeles needs some publicity. Oscars coming up in a month, eh?

I thought she was a good actress for her time...a lot better than Wagner, she was undoubtedly a very beautiful woman.
