Trump Cancels UK Visit: unhappy about the arrangements and scale of the visit
Donald Trump has cancelled his planned visit to the United Kingdom in February 2018, according to a new report from The Daily Mail.
The US president had been due to open the new American embassy in London but has now reportedly pulled out because he is "unhappy about the arrangements and scale of the visit."
Any visit by Trump to the UK seems certain to be met with huge protests, with 55% of Brits in one poll calling for his planned state visit to be cancelled. In late 2017 he embroiled himself in an unprecedented spat with British Prime Minister Theresa May, attacking her over terrorism in the UK after he retweeted videos shared by a far-right anti-Muslim extremist from Britain - sparking universal condemnation from British politicians.
After his election, Theresa May invited Trump to the United Kingdom for an official "state visit," but he has yet to take her up on the offer. The February visit would have been a lower-profile "working visit," but now secretary of state Rex Tillerson will visit instead, The Daily Mail reports.
It's not clear when Trump might visit the UK instead.

This could be to save him the embarrassment of admitting he wont be getting a wedding invite in May.

Or else it's a 'dummyspit' reaction on Trump's part, because he didn't get an invite ?

Unfortunately, like it or not, Trump is the duly elected President of the United States of America and is, therefore, the legal Head of State, unlike in the UK where H M Queen Elizabeth the Second is our hereditary Head of State whereas Blair, Brown, Cameron, May, Corbyn or anyone else is simply Prime Minister of Her Majesty's Government.
Global diplomatic convention requires that he be afforded our recognition of that fact...whether you or I like it or not.

Right. Insiders say that Trump was not so much "unhappy about the arrangements", as he was scared of the demonstrations his visit would provoke. Authoritarians are inevitably cowards.
