No? I was asking out of a vague interest. The royal family bores me.

Correct.

Maybe now Sarah and Andy can get back together, they are made for each other, even if you don't like them.
I don't care too much if she has a past, if she can do the job with grace, what does it matter. Princess Mary of Denmark? had a past as any young woman these days, yet she seems to have turned out to be a gracious member of their Royal Family and future Queen, in her case. Anyway I'm a sucker for ceremonials, especially Brit ones.
Me too. When William and Catherine got engaged, I hosted a Tea for my patrons and co-workers; scones, crustless sandwiches, crumpets, chocolate cake and 3 kinds of tea. They all loved it. When they got married I had some friends round at 6am and we had champagne and smoked salmon and I gave them a running commentary on who was who. Plus I wore a flashing tiara. We had a ball.
I expect to do the same when Harry and Meghan get married but no tea this time. I am taking proper home made sausage rolls and vol au vents to our staff Christmas meeting next week as well as a few parties.

The Duchess of Clarence would be great. Good Yorkish name, and all that!
Clarence has had some unfortunate title holders in the past.
It’s Harry’s Dukedom, she gets it courtesy of marrying him plus Hussy has no royal associations.
Sussex is my call.

The Queen gets the call out of the titles available. Options include the dukedoms of Clarence, Connaught, Windsor, Albany, and Cumberland and Teviotdale. I heard she was considering Sussex too, but I don't know if it's available.
Oh, OK, I just checked, and it is available. See the Telegraph link, posted by Didge.

Clarence - see my comment above. Too many bad associations from drowning in claret to Jack The Ripper.
Connaught - last holder honorable but it’s Irish and a non-starter for that reason.
Windsor- are you kidding me? No way it will ever be used again.
Albany - slight possibility.
Cumberland/Teviotdale- no. Very offensive to the Scots because of Culloden.
That’s why I say Sussex.
Of course, Her Majesty could create a new royal dukedom or elevate to royal status one of the extinct dukedoms such as Kendal, Albemarle, Ross or Portland, but I doubt it.

Thank you for your insights. I had no idea so many dukedoms were available until I read didge's link. What is the difference between an extinct dukedom and one that is available, but unfilled?
My comment about the Duchess of Hussy started out as a joke. But this has been a very informative discussion.

Lol. I got the joke.
I didn’t read his link, just something I know from having read lots about them. But nice to see confirmation that I knew what I was talking about.
Here’s a few links for you to read when you have time.

Re: Royal wedding alert.
People forget that Edinburgh will go to Edward as a Dukedom when Prince Phillip dies. Currently he is only Earl of Wessex, so William and Harry outrank him as both Dukes and sons of the PoW.

Re: Royal wedding alert.
So its St Georges Chapel, Windsor in May. Meaghan to become a British Citizen and to be received into the Anglican Church.
Only one dog is coming over, the other is too old, poor thing, left again, both rescue dogs . Where will he go I wonder - my emphasis has shifted now, I'm afraid.

I thought it would be. St Paul’s was never going to happen.
Her dog hasn’t been left again. I’m sure her dog will be looked after very well justcas when she was working away. He’s too old to make the flight without it killing him, or possibly any kind of travel. We don’t know so we shouldn’t judge.

Yes, I understand Cass and I'm sure it goes without saying someone he knows and trusts will be caring for him. Still doesn't stop me thinking how he'll be wondering were she is though. It was reported he'd be staying because he's too old that's all, no staying with family or friends, none of my business I suppose but there you are, that's me.

Meaghan has two rescue dogs at home which she was to bring to the UK but only one is coming because the other is too old.

Watching the interview last night I could see she was trying not to get emotional when asked about her dogs.
I wasn’t having a go at you, just that we don’t know what arrangements are in place. It must be an awful situation for her.

She has 2 rescue dogs. One has been able to move to the UK and one cannot because of age.

It’s not that. It sounds like he is too old to travel and it would kill him.
