my son was in oliver twist with sarah lancashire, tom hardy, bob brydon, timothy spall.  i had to go with him as a chaperone.  all the cast were lovely but tom hardy was up his own arse and refused point blank to talk to any of us and stayed in his trailer mostly whereas the others mingled with us and chatted away.

i still think tom hardy is a great actor though and would happily watch any of his films

I read that Hardy deliberately isolates himself on movie sets to stay in character.  It's most likely a device a lot of actors use.

well, i can understand that but the others managed ok.  also he had nothing to do with us after filming finished for the day.  we were all put up in hotels as we were filming out in the sticks but he still didn't want to  know anyone
