When I tried to view Newsfix this morning I got this. I rectified it by switching off the Safe website settings in Google but not sure if this means this site has somehow been hacked?

Malware vs. Unwanted Software

Starting somewhere around mid July 2015 Google started flagging websites for "unwanted software" as defined (vaguely) in this ref. Unwanted Software Policy. On the vast majority of the sites I have seen flagged so far the "unwanted software" has been adware/ad injectors downloaded from ads provided by 3rd party ad providers. In a handful of sites it has been "potentially unwanted programs/software" (PUPs). "Free" toolbars, registry cleaners, etc. Pretty much anything that messes with the users browser or computer is going to get flagged.

I had that after viewing a flopping forum with AVG. The owner has spyware to identify your location, browser type and isp.
It also attemts to install a trojan horse that can relay every keystroke back to the site owner. Illegal in Europe, but apparently ok in the middle east.

not sure what I've viewed to cause that. Mostly Ebay and Facebook and this place.

Had it three times now, did 'ignore the warning' at the bottom of the page, then when Newfix comes up, above it top right there is 'this is not a deceptive site' and you can tell Goggle they are wrong. Don't seem to take any notice though.

It was luck of the draw as to whether you were shown that add. Since the add had a button labeled "Download" Google put up the warning.

The owner of the site has a Muslim wife. That is hardly an indication of him hosting an anti-Muslim site. You would have to show anti-Muslim posts by the owner and not contributors. Do you understand that or is the concept to advanced for you?

Okay Ben is unavailable for the next few hours. I'm hoping the problem will resolve itself. It's an ad that forumotion are running that's affecting some sites.
They are aware and trying to fix it.

I just got an unsafe site warning when I tried to log in.

edit...not sure what's happened but I cant access the forum at all on the tablet, just switched to laptop and have no trouble.
I have Mcafee security on both.

Somethings not right though. scratch

I have been able to log in and out all day on my IPhone through google incognito and using the web option. I will try regular google and see.

Ok when I tried it on regular google with the app it went to this new promotion they are doing as mentioned above. I didn’t go any further as I don’t have security on my phone.

When I tried with the web version no problem at all.

I’m back on incognito.

Maybe people need to clear their cookies and browser history and type in the board web address again and then choose web versus app option.
