Police have urged the public to avoid a retail park in Nuneaton due to an "ongoing incident".

Warwickshire police tweeted: "Officers are currently dealing with an ongoing incident at Bermuda Park, #Nuneaton. Please avoid the area."

The complex includes a cinema, children's soft play centre and a gym. A staff member in the retail park said: "We are on lockdown".

According to unconfirmed reports, a man armed with a sawn-off shotgun has taken hostages at a bowling alley.

I didn't know anything about this until a few minutes ago... and I've been busy doing stuff today, so not been online here until just now...


All I have heard is that this has been going on since about 2.00pm... and the armed man is known to some of the staff at bowling venue...


And it is a hostage situation... police saying not islamist terrorist related...
