i know nothing about earthquakes really but at the risk of sounding like a twat, could that have been triggered by the shenanigans of jong un's firing rockets into the sea over yonder side?

Unlikely...
As Asia and North America are on two separate Continental plates..
(If N. Korea's shenanigans did trigger an earthquake, on the quite minuscule 'outside chance', that would more likely be in somewhere like South Korea, China or Japan..).

see the only thing i was aware of was the separate plates. but an earthquake/tsunami is caused when something causes the plates to disrupt and either grate together or pull away, so i thought
that's why i was wondering if the force of the rockets would have actually been enough to cause that sort of disruption
not sure where the actual lines of the plates run from and to though, and i think that at least one of the rockets fired went over japan and landed east of it into the sea - not sure
i didn't think it would have enough force to have caused disruption so far away but wasnt sure
anyway thanks for that
