Report: U.S., Russia Reach Ceasefire in Southwest Syria
The United States and Russia reached a ceasefire deal in southwest Syria, according to U.S. officials on Friday. The agreement comes after Presidents Trump and Putin met face-to-face for the first time at the G-20 summit in Germany. The ceasefire will take effect midday Sunday. Details about the agreement, which reportedly includes Jordan and Israel, have not yet been released. Previous ceasefires agreements in the region collapsed or failed after a short period of time.
