Traffic wardens have issued terror tickets to motorists whose cars were left stranded after the London Bridge attack. Within five minutes of police telling motorists the cordon had been lifted on Wednesday and they could remove their cars, a warden was seen ticketing vehicles.

Transport for London has apologised said sorry for its "insensitive mistake" after penalty charge notices were handed out in Borough High Street when the police cordon was reduced on Wednesday morning.

A notice was visible on the windscreen of an Audi car on the street.

The fines, which can be up to £130, will be cancelled, a TfL spokesman said.
