Has lost yet another libel case.
Before Christmas she cost the Mail over £150,000 in damages.
This time it's as result of her own fucking loose gob and stupidity.
£24,000 damages and£125,000 in costs.
Fuck me she is one dull cnut.
Proving once again the alt right just are not right in most departments.
Pity they didn't fuck her brain up even more during her epilepsy operation.

It was long, tedious, rambling and full of assumptions about what I had posted and, more importantly, the fact that I was not giving his august views, opinions and observations the attention that he felt he deserved.

Had he bothered read what I had said properly, he need not have gone to what was obviously an awful lot of trouble and expenditure of his time.

Your third paragraph says it all, Andy; she's making a career out of expressing her opinions - just like every columnist on every newspaper, from Littlejohn in The Mail to Owen Jones in The Guardian.

And that is her right.

And so is the ever present prospect of a writ under the 2013 Defamation Act because she's overstepped the mark.

As I have already posted, I have seen very little of her work, but what I have seen since this debate started and I actually Googled up some of her most objectionable articles, some of it is appalling...and I'm not easily appalled, believe me.

It is, however, perfectly legal - whether you and I like it or not. She also has an inalienable right to publish it - whether you and I like it or not.

And as a former journalist, though of modest repute, I simply have to respect her right to do so, if for no other reason than that if the right of free speech and expression of opinion is removed from one person, then it is removed from all.

There is no potential for selectivity...and that is why I feel as I do.

So far as future libel cases is concerned, you may well be right. But it's a pretty risky path to tread because as I mentioned in a previous post freelance writers and their employers - professional media outlets -routinely have specific insurance cover against the possibility of liability for damages under defamation legislation.

I'm pretty certain, like you, that there will come a time when Hopkins will be sued for defamation and that a judge will decide that what had been published was legally malicious. When that happens it will become impossible for either her or her employer to receive any indemnity insurance for anything that she writes or broadcasts because absolutely no underwriter will risk the sheer enormity of damages that could be awarded.

In the meantime, if you yourself feel that I have unfairly "attacked" you or "denied" you your own right of free speech (as has been repeatedly alleged in some quarters), then I humbly apologise!

Somehow, however, having been what one might describe as amicable if implacable political opponents for some years, I don't see many signs that you are too worried or offended!

PS: Jon Gaunt. An absolute bastard! When he was working in local radio as a "shock jock" he interviewed me on a number of occasions. The bugger always won, because if he felt that I was getting the upper hand he would wade in with a devastating put-down...and then terminate the interview! Good at his job though.

There is a reason some rightfully hide their identity, because some real insecure and quite vile people enter forums. I have had people try to search my identity for real, why? I have had it done to me, not that I have ever been worried and many have tried. Will send you a PM about one situation, quite disturbing really. Most do it to effect people in their real life. Like I say, I find it amusing that some people go to such lengths to do so. It shows they must really be wound up.

Eddie don't take this the wrong way, but I have noticed that you are often proud of things you should not really be proud of.

Your members are innocently posting on your forum and someone parachutes in and starts calling them all ''frauds, liars, cowards, fakes'' when they have done nowt wrong, just because - shock horror, they do not use their real name and real photo in their avvy and I'm sure you know deep down that such insults are unwarranted..... unless you have such contempt for your members that you don't care.

Some people at my site post with their real photos and some even use their real name, but most don't... and I prefer the latter, tbh. I have no burninng wish to see anyone's real name or photo, and whilst we're on the subject, there has been a parting of ways and catman (phil??) has left my site, ... oh and we all recently had some great 5th forum birthday celebrations .......... with or without photos, lol.

I am already proud. Not of everything, but of certain things. And when people join a forum, they make a user name and they find a pic of an animal or flower or something, for their avvy. Or shock horror, God forbid, they even upload a funny pic of a celeb that amuses them, like I did. That is what 90% of people do. But hey, let's all pretend that it's now a bad thing to do. I think it was a cracking debate, all sides covered, and none of the protagonists let it become personal.
It has certainly raised the awareness of how nasty some people can be - Piers Morgan is another nasty piece of work.
But they always end up overstepping the mark and landing themselves in deep shit.
It also suggests to me that Twitter is a dangerous social media outlet if not used guardedly.
