Gothenburg is the most sociable and open-minded city in the world.
Its residents place their highest value on the planet on socialising, are most likely to value social priorities over their own individual priorities, and are the third most liberal city in terms of their attitudes towards other people's lifestyles.
They are also the most frequent users of social media, place the third highest amount of trust in friends, and are the third most likely group to look for "any excuse to party."
1..Gothenburg
2..Stockholm
3..Chicago
4..Boston
5..New York City
6..Copenhagen
7..Madrid
8..Roma
9..Hamburg
10.Dublin
11.Toronto
12.Sydney
13.Paris
14.Baltimore
15.Warsaw
16.Helsinki
17.Vancouver
18.Milan
19.Berlin.
England has NO friendliest cities in the top...and Dublin is the only city to make the top 19.
Ridiculous...MANCHESTER should be in the top 10.

It is a bogus list. New York City is friendly?? Stop into a coffee shop in Manhattan and ask them to hold the cream.
They'll tell you, I got yer cream right here, fuckface!

I wouldn't have said Paris was particularly friendly - it's even worse than London for snootiness!
Hang on....is this based on what the locals have voted??

I think London is a nice city. I remember one time when my daughter (14-years old at time) and I took the train in from Heathrow. We had to walk a couple of blocks from the stop to the hotel in Cadogan Gardens, and my daughter had her big suitcase. A well-dressed gentleman stopped and helped her all the way.
Now that's class.

I think London came in at 21.
Manchester is far more friendly that Rome and Paris.
I quite liked the Parisiennes though. I was told before I went they were unfriendly and impatient with people who couldn't speak French....so I bought a phrase book and learnt important little sentences like "May I have a dry white wine please" and "Can you direct me to the ladies toilet" which usualy followed the first request.
Anyway....everyone could see I was making the effort...or...they took pity on me, but everyone was lovely.
I even got offered a job when I was wandering round Montmatre...I was flattered till I realised it was a sort of red light district at night.

I love this pic of Dublin, it could be Manchester or York....both great cities that didn't make the top list.

SYDNEY is listed at #12...
And yet I have found inner Sydney to be quite unfriendly, with the friendliness quotient rising as you move out through the suburbs..
With the Eastern Suburbs and the North Shore having higher degrees of 'snobbishness/snootiness'..
Moving away from the Sydney Basin, you find people becoming more laid-back and casual as you move up and down the coast.
