AP: DHS Draft Refutes Trump’s Threat Warnings from Banned Nations
Homeland Security analysts did not find enough evidence that individuals from the seven countries named in Fake President Trump’s executive order are a terror threat, according to a draft report obtained by the Associated Press. Despite claims by the White House, the DHS draft report allegedly states that very few citizens of those Muslim-majority countries have been involved in terrorist activities, and that coming from one of those nations is an “unlikely indicator” of a terror threat. “Whiel DHS was asked to draft a comprehensive report on this issue, the document you’re referencing was commentary from a single intelligence source versus an official, robust document with thorough interagency sourcing,” a spokeswoman told the AP, adding that the draft is “incomplete.” The White House has said it plans to issue a new executive order soon, in response to a court ruling which put the original order on hold. The new executive action will reportedly name the same seven countries.

Re: AP: DHS Draft Refutes Trump’s Threat Warnings from Banned Nations
This is an important story for two reasons. First, the Department of Homeland Security, Office of I & A, was tasked to investigate the question of whether the measures of the EO restricting immigration from the select countries, would indeed go to reducing terrorism. They came up with a resounding NO.
But second, the WH is pissed off because the I & A office did an honest assessment. What the WH wanted was a 'tainted' or fixed answer. The order was not to do an independent and honest evaluation, but to do something that would come up with predetermined, biased findings.
It is important because--remember the lawsuit now languishing in the Ninth Circuit?--the judges asked the question of reasonableness: is the EO restriction reasonable in accomplishing it's stated purpose? Now we come to learn that not only is it not reasonable, but that the Trump administration was not even trying to give an honest answer. Of course, all of this becomes evidence, along with the Trump announcement we are going after Muslims...and the Guiliani pronouncement that he was asked to whitewash the prohibition into a neutral policy.

The list of countries was assembled by the Obama administration for assessing people passing through the country on the way into the US, not for people from those countries.
That argument is an old Republican deception that has already been debunked.
