Europe's blundering liberals created America’s migration nightmare

As the world reacted to his refugee policy, President Trump tweeted this: “Our country needs strong borders and extreme vetting, NOW. Look what is happening all over Europe and, indeed, the world – a horrible mess!”

Those words are important. It was images of refugee chaos in Europe that helped elect Donald J Trump, and it’s America’s fear of becoming like Europe that will excuse his policies.

This is why Britain and Europe need a common-sense approach to migration. The alternative is a “horrible mess” that turns people against immigrants and puts populists in power.

Trump’s temporary ban on refugees and migrants from several countries is impractical and unethical. But screaming “fascist!” isn’t enough; the curious should want to know why Trumpism wins votes. And if you’d turned on an American TV in the past two years, you’d have found yourself bombarded with images of violence in Europe....

He is right on one aspect, that its wrong to be screaming fascist, but he contradicts himself over what has led to this populism. It was dishonesty from some of those on the left to real problems and its mainly driven by fear, as he just eluded to himself. Open borders was not the issue, when many of the attacks have come from home grown terrorists. So to go off and fuel a fear, of which should be challenged with reason. Is where the failing has been from some Liberals. They have ignored concerns, when they should have listened to them and reasoned back to allay peoples fears. Instead dishonesty has been at the core around problems found within ideologies. People magnify a terrorist event in Europe, whilst ignoring many daily elsewhere, to enhance the fear factor of peoples. And those on the left have failed to hear and listen to this, when they should have been admitting to where there is problems and helping to unite people.

One thing I am seeing though, is that Trump is ending up Uniting people against him. His populism, could die before its even started.
