What is being spent in this department (maternity) all comes out of the same NHS pot....someone else who badly needs NHS treatment will not get it because the money is not available.

If it was your or my child dying because vital equipment was not available, or your or my elderly parent dying in a hospital corridor because no bed or Dr was available to care for them.....maybe it would be seen in a different light.

We don't know it was ignored though.  The letter was sent 6 months later and was returned unopened.

I think she might have actually returned to Nigeria by that point.

I heard a discussion on the radio a couple of weeks ago, and the general opinion was many NHS trusts simply don't try hard enough to get back monies owed.....this case sounds exactly like the ones they were talking about.

Whether she had returned to Nigeria or not the money was still outstanding.

Yes, and the hospital have said they won't be chasing her.
