Tax payers to fork out for gift vouchers for newlyweds
In Typical RW government form, the Abbot Gov't is cutting welfare, science, education and more. But they can afford to piss away money on newlyweds.
NEWLYWEDS across Australia will be given a $200 voucher for marriage counselling from July 1, as part of a $20 million trial to strengthen relationships and avoid family breakdowns.
Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews confirmed the Federal Government’s $200 voucher scheme would proceed with a 12-month trial of 100,000 couples starting on July 1.
The Federal Government believes the move will strengthen relationships, create more happiness and stability in the home and create a better environment for children.
“The evidence shows that strong relationships between parents make a substantial difference to a child,” Mr Andrews said.

Re: Tax payers to fork out for gift vouchers for newlyweds
most pointless shit ever,
Weddings cost thousands, 10-15 thousand is not uncommon here.
$200 yeah that will stop them arguing about money
I think the Real issue is Abbot is a religitard and Marriage is Australia is Declining, we might not need to legalise Gay Marriage as we may kill off the insitution altogether instead. Legally we are already close as our defacto laws might be the strongest in the world, there is already basically nothing but the name you miss out on by being a defacto couple (which cost nothing to become as oppossed to the Thousands for a traditional marriage)

FGS keep quiet about this or Cameron will put that in place here in his plans to reward people who get married.
Is it a one off or can people who get divorced and remarry get another $200 every time/
Liz Taylor would have made over a grand with that scheme.
