Lifes little luxuries.
What little luxuries do you buy or do for yourself to make your life more comforting?
I hate winter, but coming back into a warm house and putting on snuggly socks always makes me feel comforted.

I love wearing snuggly socks and baggie clothes Syl. One of my little luxuries which I can't do without is Nivea Cream.

Nivea, chock full of oestrogenic parabens, contact allergens and penetration enhancers plus five potential carcinogens. Still fancy using it?

Simple pleasures.....they don't have to cost much.
I love a full fruit bowl and a nice vase of fresh flowers....a couple of candles lit as soon as it gets dark in winter (not Yankee candles, they remind me of rats) and lovely L'occitane bath products to have a long soak in.

Candles make the house so comforting. I've got a burner so when the flames come on, instantly it's welcoming and warm.
In the wind I like walking around, wrapped up, kicking leaves and just enjoying the day.

I love that leaf kicking thing too Mags.....we are never to old to do stuff like that. We only stopped scouting for conkers with the grandkids a couple of years ago.....and picking up pine cones and making them into decorations is fun too.

I did that with cones when mine were young and with the grandchildren too. I love making things with the kids.

Re: Lifes little luxuries.
You know, I've racked my brain and I don't know!
I can't say candles because I burn them a lot so they're more like a part of me, and I am not one to laze in the bath tbh as I can't understand it, I get too fidgety and then hot and then I get out.
I don't wear socks indoors, I'm pretty much a bare foot person and I am not a massive fan of any kind of sweets....
I suppose whiskey and/or a special ciggie is a luxury....Oh and I am definitely a fan of facetime with special friends, that's a luxury, especially when my friend Lisa was recovering from chemo and couldn't get out of bed....those were special times and I was able to cheer her up.

Most beauty products/creams/deodorants etc are full of poisons!

Special ciggies and a tot or two of whisky can definately be described as 'little luxuries' Eddie....something that makes you relax and comforts you without costing a lot....though tbh I have no idea how much splifs cost.
The only one I was ever given was years ago. I was suffering from really bad back ache and my son brought me one round to ease the pain. I put it in a draw for when the pain got worse....my OH said I was guilty of having my son supply drugs.
Oddly when I looked for it a week or so later it had gone.

I've had 100's of different makes/types/styles of trainers over the years... and i can honestly say that these (and only one other pair of trainers I got from a skate shop down in Brighton lanes) are so much more comfortable than any other I have ever had and by a huge margin!
I can't recommend them highly enough!!!
Treat yourself and you will know what I'm talking about... trust me!!!

You're not a woman, so you probably haven't the foggiest about seeking out the right beauty products. But there are many that are about as pure as you can get them. Best way is to make them, and that's not as hard as it seems.

I don't need to be a mountain climber either to be able to know that it is a long way up to the top or a long drop to the bottom!!!
You raised the point of a certain skin/beauty cream being full of (let's say) "toxins/poisons" etc...
Then I agreed... and I added that in my opinion most of the wider range of personal hygene/beauty/etc products are also full of "toxins/poisons"...
And you said...
"Not really. Not if you're discerning"
And then...
"...there are many that are about as pure as you can get them..."
Now... are you seriously saying that most high street brands of personal hygene/beauty products are free from "toxins/poisons" and I am wrong with what I said in claiming they were full of "toxins/poisons"...?

Wine.... and
When I'm working I take pictures to remind myself where I live, it's easy to forget what is on your door step so I make a point of taking quick phone pictures every week.

St. Andrews the home of Golf.
I've been to Cumbria few times mainly to Barrow in Furness. Great history there in the defence of our nation.

I know the Furness peninsular very well and was brought up in a small village in the area, returned to Kendal mint cake land after a decade or so down South, been back here 20 years now. And now I feel ancient thinking of all that time!

You clearly loved your cat, nicko, and I can relate to that even though some people might scoff. I genuinely hope she returns, but failing that why not consider giving another kitten a good home?

Anyone who can scoff when we lose a dearly loved pet is a cold hearted moron.
